LOL - that's the one! It is the only programme guaranteed to keep Benjamin quiet ;) :rotfl:

what is this wonder programme I know nothing about????
    Lol, oopsies.....

Has anyones hair totally changed since giving birth? I know they say that 3months afterwards your hair can fall out etc, but it grows back again, mine never seemed to have. It's basically at my crown. AND OH WONT BUY ME HAIR EXTENSIONS. My ponytail is pathetic!

I'm loosing my hair drastically. I have very thick hair anyway - and lots of it, so it's not making a noticable difference to other yet but I am worried about it. My mum assures me it'll grow back.......My hair was 'my thing'. I'm not known to be particualrly fashionable (I prefer classic ;) ) or big on make-up etc, I always relied on looking 'nice' with my shiney, healthy hair - now it's dull, falling out in handfuls and rarely looks alright - never mind 'nice'!!! OH the joys of having children :o
I bought Benjamin this Very Hungry Caterpillar toy today:

    the-very-hungry-caterpillar-activity-toy-1101-p.jpg

And the book of course - nobody is taking the hint and buying Benjamin the book!!!
the board book is £4 in tescos ;) and it's the 40th anniversary of the book this year - you can get a gorgeous pop up book, colouring books etc....

I think that [STRIKE]I,[/STRIKE] LO needs one of those. Waitrose you say......

My LO is four months and 6 days old, and I finally have a nursing bra! It had to be specially shipped over from America, but I now have one and I can feed in public!!

We're hoping Rhys is big enough for a swimfloat suit thingy when we go away in November :D (don't suppose babies can go in hottubs too?!)

I've got a swim float thingy if you want it? My Reece will grow out of it before we get a chance to use it (fat little thing!) Have you also considered the little jackets you can get for them? I got one for Charlie and they are made from a wet suit type material, it keeps them warm and stops them being so slippery

Charlotte made up a hair game. She brushes mine over my face and says "oh where's Mammy gone?", then she pushes it back with her hands and says "oh, there she is" and gives me a kiss. Repeat over and over again :D

There's a street light at the edge of our front garden, so it shines in her bedroom window. I've got blackout linings on the curtains. Went up for a shower after she went to bed, and the little monkey was standing on her bed with a book on the windowsill. She turned round when she heard me and said "not out of bed and just reading a book Mam" :rotfl:

    Becles she sounds sooo cute.
I bought Benjamin this Very Hungry Caterpillar toy today:

Was stupidly expensive (£13.99!!!! we were in Waitrose  - the only supermarket I can get hubby to go into!!) but it is lovely...I just want the Butterfly to go with it now!

And the book of course - nobody is taking the hint and buying Benjamin the book!!!

If you end up buying it yourself, The Book People have it with a CD for £3.99 (although you have to pay P+P for orders less than £15). I picked up my BookStart pack the other day and there was a leaflet in it for Redhousebooks and it was advertising the book for £2.99. I've just checked the site and it's not on there but if you want the product code, I'll look in the leaflet. Redhousebooks do free P+P too.

wears old grandma style clothes (think completely sequinned clothes with gold trimming)........sod her :D/QUOTE]

Be careful what you say, Sami has a thing about 'Jazzy Cardi's':rotfl:

MFD don't hate me but we've got the Hungry Caterpillar butterfly, its fab, Ello absolutely loves it and demanded that Daddy bought it for her (for a bargainous £6.80 in the local insect/zoo place) And we used to have 2 Boo's I am sure there will still be one lurking in the bottom of the toybox.

Would you still object to 2nd hand if the fairies brought it? I don't really fancy sorting out the toybox if I have no reason to!

We had the best night ever last night Ello went to bed at 8 slept til 2.30 I stuck the dummy back in and she slept til 6.30 !!! Yay! only thing is that I don't know whether it was the liberal application of baby drugs (teething powder and anbesol) that did it.

And in other news we took the stabilisers (or pedal steps as they are known in this house) off Millie's bike yesterday and she can ride it :T

I'm a bit of an interloper on this forum (my boys are 24 and 29!) however I am about to become a grandparent and want to buy a baby buggy as a present. The parents-to-be are very busy working etc. and are happy for me to choose but - which one??? It's a long time since I bought one and the choice now is overwhelming... They live in a first floor flat (no lift) so obviously will have to carry baby and all up and down stairs. As this is our first grandchild we hope that the buggy will be also be useful for further grandchildren so we are happy to spend a bit more for good quality. Any tips or advice would be so much appreciated. Many thanks for reading.

hello  congratulations for when you become a grandparent ;) before you start looking properly I would ask some questions first. What do you want it to do? Lie flat, be a pram, buggy and car seat? how long do you want it to last the child? What features are most important - lie flat positioning, folding action, style? What does it need to do? For example will it be used in a car mainly or on public transport? how easy is it to get in/out of their flat (we live in a flat but have a lift so that didn't influence our choice much).

then - go and play with some and see what you and the parents to be like. It's worth spending time on your purchase as this is normally the biggest baby expense.

As a recommendation I have a bugaboo cameleon and I love it :D Good luck xxxx

My baby is 7 months now and for the past week has been extremley grumpy with teething. Does the grumpiness normally last this long (a week) I cant remember from my 1st as it was that long ago. When he cut his 1st 2 teeth he didnt complain at all but now he wont stop crying and I have tried everything. I just want my happy baby back :(

    Bekki

I have a Little girl almost same age as yours. We find teething comes in 'lumos' - a few weeks or days of grumpiness then a few weeks/days of being fine. We just keep trying all the gels.liquids, pain relievers available until we find one that has the desired effect! And lots of extra attention and cuddles seems to help too. My LO loves to chew - biccie pegs from ASDA or boots are really worth investing in too.

its about getting people off benefits eg jsa ... really interesting x

We watched that too - very interesting, but wasn't the 'coach' woman irritating! I think i'd have had to slap her! OH said she reminded him of David Brent! :rotfl:

Yes - i'm balding too! I remember it happening after DD1, but not this bad. All around the hairline at the sides and front is new hair now. I've got a short dark bob, which I normally clip the front bit back. But I cant now, because of the new hair growth, i've got a new fringe which is about 1" long, so I look like a little girl who found the scissors!
I was just reading another thread and it suddenly just clicked in my head that I may have a case for the CSA to chase the girls mothers for contributions to their upbringings.

I know little about the CSA and whether mothers can be chased too

Yes, it works exactly the same whether the absent parent is the Mum or the Dad. You just don't hear about as many absent Mums (although there is more than you'd imagine).

OK, off to bed now. LO still awake so hopefully she'll drop off soon (she's been asleep by 7:45 the past few nights but we went out tonight and didn't get back until 7:45, so we gave her bath a miss and went straight to the pyjamas and milk stage but I think she's over tired now. Oh well, maybe she'll sleep even longer in the night.

Well, that didn't work. We had the worst night since she's been in her own room. She finally dropped off about 10:45, and then was pretty much awake from 1am until 7am . The longest bit of sleep we had during that time was 40mins and that was 5am to 5:40. I managed to get her off to sleep from about 7:30am til 8:45 but only by having her on the bed next to me. Feel sorry for poor hubby who had to get up at 6:30 with practically no sleep. I've told him that we're not going out again with her at night for at least five years as it disrupts her too much :D

We've got a Christening up north on Sunday with a meal afterwards, but we're hoping to be on our way home by 4:30pm at the latest which means
we won't be back too late for her bathtime routine.

Talking of hair, I haven't washed my hair for 5 days :o. I was going to do it last night but we were late home, then LO wouldn't sleep, so was going to do it this morning but she's grumpy because she's over tired. Going to see if I can get her to go off to sleep and then do it cos I don't really want to go to Tesco with minging hair. If I went to the nearest Tesco, I'd fit in quite well with minging hair but I want to go to the posher one a bit further away as need to call in MIL's which is on the way.

I hope everyone has a good day.

    xxxx

Hopefully this will make getting out and about that bit easier, it isn't east to manouvere enormous boobs (this bra is a 46I) out of a normal bra in public.

Getting LO weighed on Tuesday with my Mummy friend, and will ask if she wants to do something the following week.

Will make the Wedding easier in a couple of weeks, it'll be an all day affair and I didn't fancy nipping off to the car to feed every hour!
