I haven't seen the doc yet - going at t-time - so not sure what he'll suggest. Last time I had tablets (Fluconazole sp?), cream for my nipples and something for IMogen's mouth.

Sami - nystatin is the oral suspension. It's yellow and tastes DISGUSTING! I mistakenly got a bit in my mouth when giving it to Alex. Bleurgh!

JVIC - we introduced a story at about 6m for Imogen. We just worked it into the existing bath, feed, bed routine. I think it's great you're doing it so young. V committed! I worried that any change to the bedtime routine would throw her, but it really didn't. The biggest changes were going from bottle to cup and feed after bath to feed before bath, but it was all fine. She was more adaptable than I'd given her credit for, despite being a very 'routined' baby.

Better go check on Alex, think he's woken up and is cooing to himself in his car seat!

Nothing out of the ordinary, just what I've always been told for BF. Potatoes, bread, pasta and I eat a pudding after dinner which I wouldn't normally. Good excuse to make flapjacks.
Maybe after 6 babies your boobs are just really good at what they do :)

Jivic....Rose is now 16 weeks and has just started sleeping through. I too BF till about 8 weeks then transfered to FF. When i changed to formula she still didnt increase the times inbetween feeds. I too thought she was trying to catch up, so to speak.

Only yesterday I increased her bottles from 6oz to 7. She has went from taking 8 bottles a day to only 4 within a few weeks. I know it was discussed on here a few weeks ago and someone ( think it was Bruno ) said a baby needed to be 15lb? I think to maintain being able to sleep through?

Rose is 12lb 13 oz now. I really hope it gets a bit better soon. I think you can cope with most things when you get a good nights sleep x

yes it is said that they need to be 15lb before they can sustain themselves through the night but I'm not sure where they got if from, I think its balls tbh :p

Ed has been able to sleep 10pm-6am since he was about 12.5lb/11 weeks but Chris didn't until he was closer to 6mths, Chris was FF and Ed is BF.
it's the luck of the draw I reckon

Sami - just a quick question re: baths for the little ones. Yours are roughly the same ages as ours, so I wanted to know what you do. Do you bath them at the same time? Or separately? Nightly? Or opposite nights? We're still trying to figure out the best way to go about it.

I'm not sure you'll copy me :p Edgar get bathed in a baby bath once a week (or more if he does a huge poop or is sick) Chris likes to help me bath him so we usually did it in the day.
Chris hops in with his dad as and when, between 3-7 times a week, OH always has a shower/bath when he gets home from work so we've always just chucked him in when he needed it but his hours are changing to a later finish as of next week so Chris will prob have a bath on his own and when Ed is bigger (and eating food therefore dirtier) I'll get him a seat so they can go in together, Chris is happy to run round in his towel poncho for a bit if/when I need to do them together :)

Triggles - good question. Ours are the same age - nearly 3 and 8 weeks.

Imogen gets in the bath every night between 7 & 7.30pm. We put Alex in when he's awake but don't bother if he's not. I'd like to think we can bath them together for a short while and perhaps then bath Alex first while Imogen finishes watching CBeebies so he can be in bed before she comes upstairs. That way they both get some individual attention but Imogen gets to stay up a bit later.

Do you think that would work? I'm not sure when we'll pull it off. Alex is currently going to bed around 8.30pm and I won't be making his bedtime any earlier until he sleeps through so currently he just has a dip with his sister, then a feed, then stays up until he starts to yawn. Any ideas appreciated!

The book thing is something we wanted to start early to start a routine we can carry on with (we don't read him war + peace or anything, it's mr nonsense at the moment!)

We've read Aaron a book since 4 weeks (he is now 11 weeks), when we started a bedtime routine of:
    -Bath (or wash)
    -Sleepsuit on
-Lights off (nightlight glows), soft talking
-Bottle feed from daddy (used to be EBM but now formula)
-Cuddles with daddy/me while we talk to him
-Read a story - used to be while cuddled then laid down afterwards, now is laid down first and read to
-Given a kiss and we say the same phrase "Goodnight Aaron, see you in the morning, I love you"

He is always laid down while still awake, but dozy, and from the 3rd day of this he has gone to sleep within 5 minutes with no crying, if there's crying it's 30 seconds or so before he puts his fingers in his mouth and drifts off.

It used to be daddy doing all of the above with me sometimes doing the story, now we can vary any part of it and he still goes off like a dream (excuse the pun!). Some people at baby groups laughed when I said we read to him at 4 weeks, and I know he didn't understand what we were saying, but now he actually looks at us and listens when we read it, usually while smiling like a loon (daddy does 'voices'), and I'm laughing now as my baby goes to sleep without a problem.

He recently started holding onto the muslin cloth and playing with it while we fed him (like Elle said about), so I took that opportunity to give him a little blankie for familiarity as were going to move him into his cot in the nursery from the basket in our room, so when he gets laid down, we lay that on him and he holds on to it. Same routine gets done now except he's put into cot instead, and still goes to sleep fine.

    Hello ladies,

I hope you don't mind me gatecrashing for a moment to ask a question? I'm due to be joining you in a couple of weeks :)

I'm 38 weeks today, and for the last few days I really do think that my bump is noticeably smaller. i don't think I'm leaking or anything! Is this normal? As far as I know, at 35 weeks I was 4/5 engaged and haven't been measured for this since.
