Good luck to you! Sorry, I'm not trying to pick holes in your argument, just thinking out loud on the reasons why they might say no. We have had many a conversation/debate in our department about the rules and about how the company could always find some way out of it. Unfortunately, it often comes down to a case of "if your face fits" and sometimes it doesn't always go in your favour - and when it does go in someone's favour it baffles everyone else because they can't see what's so special about the person to get what they want0

Are you feeling any better (than this morning), Becles?0

but getting her to have anything more than one spoonful of anything green is proving to be a messy and hardwork affair
I have never done 'individual' foods......I have always just blended full dinners, with everything in together....Kai has always eaten everything;)Buttonmoons wrote: »So am I redmel, what you making? I made the bedrock braised mince, and have just turned some of it into chilli, only thing is I didn't read the recipe right and bunged the red wine in near the end instead of the start, so waiting for it to reduce now....
Cottage pie:D I made the chilli the other day, but had no wine, so didn't add that and I hate kidney beans so used baked beans instead:p
Tine - I remember you saying about that now:)
I will just have to deal with my situation...like I say it 'probably' wouldn't be so bad if I liked my job!

I wouldnt worry about the company, but just so you know, none of our local nurseries allow 1 day a week, minimum of 2 so they are not as ''traumatised'' for being separated from parents on that one day, and they have more of a connection to staff and other kids. The two best things I have done with my life

STOPTOBER CHALLANGE ... here we go !!0 -
oh that's good r.mac, I don't feel like a weirdo now
I've been to the maltese islands, 2 thoughts, the maltese themselves, like the Italians, seemed to have a fab family-friendly approach to LOs out and about it restaurants (although it was smoky when I went (does Malta come under EC directives about that-sorry to be dumb!)) so you will be very welcomed in the maltese restaurants!
I'd steer clear of the tourist food. They seemed to think brits like everything swimming in oil, which is a bit much in all that heat
It got up to 40 degrees while we were there, so your bottles will come in handy for giving LO sips of cooled boiled water throughout the day
Have a lovely time
thanks for the tips re maltese islands. we have ended up going there on a recommendation - she drinks from a cup which is handy:D It's the one occasion where we have found cheapest is best - the tommee tippee asbosulte basic tip up and it spills out:rotfl: Luckily we have a travel version too which had a spout that flips shut (allegedly:eek::cool::D:rotfl:)r.mac I like to give gifts made by the kids (coz its cheap) How about a framed handprint with a poem?
green food - remember it takes something like 10 goes before they've made up their mind if they like it or not, do you mix the green stuff with sweeter things like carrot & broccoli?
I wouldn't worry (not that I think u are) Chris didn't really like it but he now loves lettuce, spinach, rocket and cucumber (all raw not though no broccoli or peas/cooked green stuff )
Good idea - IKEA have some super cheap and cheerful frames - just need to get some paint - top tips sami?Have I made this quote small enough?:D Now that's better!
Have you tried mixing green stuff with sweet potato or BNS? When I did my cooking, i kept everything seperate, so i've got an ice cube tray of BNS, one of sweet potato, one of beetroot, one of broccoli, one of carrot etc. So, when I make her meal, I get about four/five cubes, maybe two sweet and two green!, defrost them and mix them all together. We've almost ran out of cubes now, so i'll have to make some more but this time more chunky I think.
She does seem to prefer sweet stuff like breakfast - but will still eat the other stuff. She's not refused anything yet, so maybe she's like the other two, they'll eat anything! Even sprouts!
Hugs about the work situation - i'm still unsure whats happening with me! i really should sort myself out. I've got a new line manager in work apparently, who I've never met - I thought he might have phoned/emailed to say hello!
[STRIKE]we [/STRIKE]who am I kiddingI have done the same as you 3 - lots of cubes and mix together. I think I might be worrying a little early on I think....:o But will keep going. I haven't tried pureed peas yet, they are green AND sweet so might be a good idea. She will chew lettuce and cucumber, but i've not seen her actually eat any of it....
work - our situtaion is very complication. No maternity pay or SMP for meand I don't have a specific job to go back to now. I'm negotiating with DH currently. I want to be a SAHM but DH isn't convinced. However when it comes to the crunch he's not prepared to pitch in with the household chores and would rather the drop (or rather lack of increase) in income than learn to iron, cook and give up his sports training that would need to happen if I go out to work:rotfl::T It's an old fashioned approach, but I believe it's all about finding the balance that suits your own situation.
r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

elle the more arguments that you can think of that they might come up with the better prepared I'll be so don't appologise! And I'll put up my counterarguments in case they are useful to other people
I know what you mean about "face fitting"... problem is that if they have set a presedent they have to be real careful about then not being flexible with someone elseOh well - I'm anticipating a fun battle with them but hoping it'll be a quiet agreement
If they agree to my 3 days from home then I'll be equally flexible and try to be accomodating about maybe moving my days at home around to help them etc and doing the work that needs doing regardless of the hours - like I've always done
I'm vainly hoping they'll see the benefit of this... If they have to replace me properly they'll be in for a heck of a ride as no-one wants my main client (they're already begging me to come back as the person handling them doesn't want to deal with them any more lol) and the last person they hired lasted less than 3 months because the job is so stressful and demanding... And she was alledgedly more qualified than me
AND she didn't have the biggest pain in the back end account
hehehehe
ETA - if I'm REALLY lucky they'll offer me voluntary redundancythat way I can stay home for a full year on 90% pay thanks to my insurances etc hehehehe
DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
elle - sorry if this isn't something you want to think/talk about, but when will you have to make that decision as to whether you go back? Rhys seems like he's doing so well, I can hardly believe he was that premature - but I know that there's always 2 sides to every situation and we just get the gorgeous photosr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0

Are you feeling any better (than this morning), Becles?
It's getting worse
It started last Friday but my normal tablets haven't settled it down. I can feel my bowel going into spasm as it sort of twists and sticks out. If I lie on my back and massage it, it helps - one of the doctors showed me that! I also feel sickly, have no appertite, have indigestion and I keep getting the runsHere I go again on my own....0
