The nursery at OH's work has a 2 session minimum, we've asked to be considered for a 2 session (2 afternooon) placement for Fergus come next feb.
About working from home, it sounds like you've thought it all through tine.
I was chatting to a friend whose little girl is 14 months now and she's done working from home from 6ish months. Her wisdom was that at first, with longer day naps and less need of mummy to notice and applaud every new thing she was doing, and no walking or crawling, then it worked quite well.
By a year it was much harder, because she would start an email, help LO find something, go back to email, forget what she was trying to say. Start again, LO falls over the cat.... back to email... now where was I....start again, LO does explosive poo.... damn what was I going to say :rotfl: you get the picture!
I'm just offering this thought so you could maybe have some extra help up your sleeve for when Alexandra is at a more demanding stage? Perhaps a mummy friend who can take her for a long walk in return for you looking after hers....
Just thinking out loud

Good idea - IKEA have some super cheap and cheerful frames - just need to get some paint - top tips sami?I found the only ones that don't leak are the ones with a seal (the ones that a 'bad') I used ones with removable valves to the valve stopped them leaking but I removed it before giving the cup to Chris
I've got some lovely pearlesant paint from tesco in lots of colours (green purple gold silver bronze)0 -

Becles, is it just IBS ( I dont mean just as in - Is that all ?? sarcastic get over it type of way ) I mean are the doctors sure its not colitis or Chrons? My OH has Chrons and he has been quite bad on and off for the last couple of weeks, but the weather seems to play a part in it and aso we have been eating a pile of crap which obviously doesnt help.
I would ask for a referal to a specialist for a scan to see if it is any thing elseThe two best things I have done with my life

elle - sorry if this isn't something you want to think/talk about, but when will you have to make that decision as to whether you go back? Rhys seems like he's doing so well, I can hardly believe he was that premature - but I know that there's always 2 sides to every situation and we just get the gorgeous photos
Assuming Rhys is like now or better, I'll have to think about it at Christmas to see whether I can stay off for Feb-May(ish), the unpaid part of SMP. Assuming I can, I'll start talking to work in late January about going back on different hours so we've got time to work something out - I've seen how long recruitment processes can take and if the current temp doesn't want to switch to part-time job share with me, we'll have to look for someone new.
The problem is if Rhys is still on medication, a lot of nurseries/childminders won't administer it (someone correct me on that if I'm wrong!), and at the minute he has meds at 0600, 0800, 1200, 1600, 1800, 2000 and 0000, and we can't make the bottles up in advance and put the meds in ready for them due to the other powders in it (would be okay if it was just EBM, or cows milk by then, without the powders). My mum has said she will look after Rhys and I do trust her 100% to do the meds so that's all fine - as long as nothing happens to her in the meantime. Not that I'm expecting anything to of course but you just never know!! (could just be something like she might have to go back to work or something else non-lifethreatening!).
I always did plan to go back to work parttime because I wanted to because I like the job, as well as we need the money, and I still do. I would miss the buzz of work
There are glimmers of hope in the offing that OH might be offered a promotion with a substantial payrise (just about equivalent to what I'd bring home working parttime) but the proposal isn't being put forward until January due to budgets etc at work. With a huge amount of luck, it might be sorted by May so we could afford for me not to go back to work, but then there's still the "missing the buzz" part to it..
We potentially have DLA and Carers Allowance plus increased Tax Credits to bolster our income if I can't go back to work due to Rhys' health and the amount of care he needs but I still feel funny about claiming them
Sorry, that was a bit of a long-winded waffly answers! :rolleyes:0 -
Someone stick a fork in me, I'm done!
That chilli was lussssh, a lot of initial work, but I have enough chilli leftover to freeze two portions, and one for OH's lunch tomorrow. Not forgetting the "braised mince" that will get turned into shepherds pie and spag bol. Will probably just freeze those once it's cooled down, as don't wanna OD on mince this week!
Not sure of the amount, I think the dearest thing was probably the 350ml of red wine for the chilli, I wonder if this could be substituted for something else?
You'll know weezl
Had the chilli with some tortilla wraps, sour cream, some avacado chunks and a bit of cheese. Diet out the window today then!
Hope you manage to get the work schedule you want MrsTine, must be awful having to leave your baby, I'm lucky I never had to do that, but we don't really have anything "nice"! Like a nice house, or a nice car lol. I'd love a house with a garden, and room for chickens! OH's mum said I could have chickens at their house (they used to have them before but didn't pen them in at night and MrFox got a bit hungry....) but they live quite far out of the way and I don't want to leave most of the work to her, unless she actually wanted them.
Be quite cool though because they have a building that was actually the "servants quarters" makes me lol that, anyways basically it's just full of crap now, bikes etc, but you could EASILY keep chickens in one half of the stone house thing, just build some perches and bobs your uncle! Loads of grass and whatnot to free range, and because it's isolated, the only traffic up there road is the farmers tractor.......I wish I had something like that.....one day maybe!0 -

you could try 100 ml each of sherry and redwine vinegar? They are both stronger flavours hence only 200 ml, but the sweetness in the sherry would balance the sharpness of the vinegar. That would cost 52p rather than the £1.55 for 350ml of special offer red wine. So that's over £1 saved :money:
