The problem is if Rhys is still on medication, a lot of nurseries/childminders won't administer it (someone correct me on that if I'm wrong!), and at the minute he has meds at 0600, 0800, 1200, 1600, 1800, 2000 and 0000, and we can't make the bottles up in advance and put the meds in ready for them due to the other powders in it (would be okay if it was just EBM, or cows milk by then, without the powders).

As a childminder I can answer this on a personal basis - if I was given training to administer and permission from both parents (if around) in writing then I would administer the medicine. I have a form for parents to complete with instructions for long term medicines which they then have to sign

Hugs for Becles and Tia! :grouphug:

I missed the creche thing! :doh:Only realised when I heard Kirsty and Phil

Can't remember if I mentioned it but I got a small cot tidy the other day from eBay to go on the end of Rhys' crib. I paid £2 for it and I've just been looking to find out which range it was from. Turns out it's a discontinued one (Linear Zoo) and there are the same cot tidys on eBay, with the range in the title, going for £20! Hope I can keep it in good condition and sell it on when we're done with it! :D

I have never done 'individual' foods......I have always just blended full dinners, with everything in together....Kai has always eaten everything;)
The only thing is that if you have a family history of allergies (which presumably you don't) it can be sensible (at least initially) to introduce foods one at a time so that if they have a reaction you have a good idea what it might have been.

random tip for anyone being healthy, asda smart price cottage cheese is really very nice with a spoon of mango chutney in it, on a baked potato- whole dinner under 70p!:money:

It's bread-baking evening in our house, 4 loaves of wholemeal...what are you all up to?
Hmm I wonder if cream cheese would work too? ('Cause I can make cream cheese but not cottage cheese.)

About to feed my sourdough starter which I'm resurrecting from the freezer (finally found the jugs I do it in) and prepare baked porridge for tomorrow and then see if the latest episode of "Underage and Pregnant" is on iPlayer.

  • r.mac, if you're planning on using cartons of formula whilst away then buy at Boots AFTER you have been through security! Thats exactly what I did when we went to Spain as its doesn't effect your baggage allowance . But we called Boots the day before to make sure they had stock in. I also bought these so I didn't have to faff and packed the normal bottles in my case.

3, will you have use of a microwave when you go away? I took these as I knew our room had one.

    xx

It reminded me of when my husband came in absolutely ill laughing because he'd seen a dog poo out a tea bag, but not all the string had come out so it went wandering off with a tea bag dangling from it's bum hole :rotfl:
that cat had went and eaten a string bag that your tomatoes/oranges come in, crapped it out, and started playing with it all over the room.

I'm going to tell the sort of story that would get me killed if my brother ever saw it... when he was about 5 we were on holiday in Malta and he came to me in an absolute panic thinking his insides were falling out. He'd eaten salami from the breakfast buffet, not taken the rind off and it had made its way through and halfway out so he had a salami-rind-poop tail.

I occasionally recount the story when we're alone and tell him I'm going to tell it in a speech at his wedding.

Tia, the monster sometimes gets so worked up that she won't stay on the breast. I tend to leave the nipple in or right at her mouth and hold her head close to it - after a fairly short time she gets bored of arguing with me and latches on. She's been a crankypants all day today - the hottest day of the summer so far and she's having what I suspect is a growth spurt so she's constantly right up against me. We're both sweaty and tired from the heat and still she wants to feed more while at the same time objecting to being so hot and sticky.

:T OH had already done the baked porridge and is now making a choculate microwave "cup" cake. So I'm now googling mango chutney recipes thanks to weezl's meal idea.

Aww Tia is she calm and awake now? if she is park her infront of your nip and keep gently trying her. Ed is now at the point where the click of my bra flap gets him all excited and the sight of my nip is welcomed with a big open mouth :D

Susan is baked porridge made similarly to a rice pudding? I've not heard of it before :)

Elle, DS2's nursery will administer medication if you sign a consent form.

Sami, she slept for a little after it then woke up for a play I guess. Not interested in food but wide awake, which hasn't happened before.

Sugar, normally she is ok, but this time it just wasn't going to happen and I couldn't be bothered arguing.
