my pram came with a safety strap and I have to confess to using it going down hill too:D My load is precious (most of the time )

Thank You all for listening....I am just moaning really aren't I.
There is no way I can take any unpaid ML so have to go back as soon as SMP runs out. I know it is not bad only having to do 2 days, I think it is just getting me down because I don't like the job......but it is so, so ,so awfully convenient it is going to be hard to leave. I am looking for another job, but as things are at the moment, there isn't much about:(
I am also concerned with how dh is going to cope! I am getting a bit upset with it all....is it bad that I would rather my kids go to a child-minder than be with their dad? But unfortunately out of the question, as we couldn't afford it!!!

I've been to the maltese islands, 2 thoughts, the maltese themselves, like the Italians, seemed to have a fab family-friendly approach to LOs out and about it restaurants (although it was smoky when I went (does Malta come under EC directives about that-sorry to be dumb!)) so you will be very welcomed in the maltese restaurants!

I'd steer clear of the tourist food. They seemed to think brits like everything swimming in oil, which is a bit much in all that heat :eek:

It got up to 40 degrees while we were there, so your bottles will come in handy for giving LO sips of cooled boiled water throughout the day

Mel - if it makes you feel better... when I go back it'll have to be full time I'm not looking forward to it but fingers crossed that they might agree to my proposed flexi working terms of working from home 3 days a week If DH could get even 1 day guaranteed to work at home then it would mean only 1 day for Alexandra in day care...

I know how you feel Mel, Caitlyn will be with the childminder for 5hrs a day 5 days a week I can't do longer days and have 1 off per week as my hours fit with taking DS to school and fetching him - I haven't got anyone else to do it. Besides, I like doing it. I would be giving up one thing for another? I could look at just giving up a day, but we need the money, and 1 day less wouldn't make enough of a difference to out tax credits to compensate - we only get the basic.

Have a mega tantrum... and then go through appeals with the union at my side...

They'd have to come up with a really good reason to turn it down - they have set a precedence by letting my manager and colleagues work from home (the lady I replaced worked from home constantly apart from the odd day when she'd come into the office - like once or twice a month...) so as far as I am concerned it's been proven that it can be done without impacting the company. I'm willing to accept 2 days a week might need to be away from home - mainly because my biggest client is in Exeter and no-one else wants to deal with them so I don't see that being flexible Took me a year to get the account running properly - I anticipate that it'll be a while before I get them tamed again when I returned... But in fairness that should only be one or two days a month on site... the rest is me being very flexible

If they refuse my request they'll need a cast iron reason... if they don't then I have no issue after all the problems when I was pregnant of going down the discrimination route...
