  • Only 2 days ago, I started shouting at OH because I thought he had trailed dog crap in the house on a bit of plastic, no, that cat had went and eaten a string bag that your tomatoes/oranges come in, crapped it out, and started playing with it all over the room.

Buttons - sorry the cat is giving you a hard time, but that bit did make me :rotfl:

Emlou - He does all those things (except for superhammy!) Everytime the fridge is opened, he's there looking for things to fall out of it and eat!

Oh, and he just managed to get into the kitchen, I didn't know, I was pouring boiling water from the kettle into a jug to make stock and he jumped up on the counters (NOT ALLOWED!) and scared the bejessus outta me, and I ended up pouring boiling hot water all over my fingers :(

He is too cute to stay mad at but I tell you, I can't wait till he gets his dingalings cut off!

Grrrrr @ the cats....we only have one now, but at one point we had four:eek: as much as I feel a little bit sad that - 1 went missing, 1 got knocked down on the busy road nearby, and the other went back to it's previous owner (a few times, so they have kept it) I am glad....when this one is gone, there is no way I will get another, they are complete pains in the back-sides;)

I have come on for a little bit of a moan/cry....I keep getting myself all worked up about going back to work. I have sent the form back about returning and the change of days that I want and I have one more form to send back to finalise it all, but I can't bring myself to post it. I really don't want to go back, it probably wouldn't be so bad if I enjoyed my job, but I don't. I do like all the girls I work with, but because I am changing days I will only see them one day a week the other day will be spent on my own, and I am really not looking forward to it. I now keep picking on dh (as he will be having the kids) and criticising everything he is doing or not doing;) saying 'oh so you gonna do that when i'm at work' or 'i bet you're just gonna blah, blah, blah when I'm not here' it is causing tension between us (understandably) and I have now started to get upset about having to go back at all. I also keep blaming him for the fact that I have to even go back. When it is not 'exactly' his fault, I just can't see any way around it, or even how it would be feasible to change jobs at the moment......all this is just making me feel miserable, and push Kai away as I think, I am going to have to get used to not being with him (I mean how stupid it is only for 2 days, 3 if they need extra help)

Sorry for the moan, dh doesn't get it and I am making things worse for myself by being narky with him)

    Mel x

MFD and Sami - return trip won't be so bad as it's at late evening/night - so going to treat it like nightime so less feeds needed. Going to fill her up before security and just have a couple of spare feeds on me in bottles :D Plus it won't matter if they loose the luggage on the way back as we live quite close so no long journey at the other end so that's one less 'spare' feed I need to carry 'just in case' IYKWIM (Sorry I'm not being very articulate today)

Quotes - agreed. Public lynching of MFD may comence on my countdown, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...GO!!!!!!

Elle - your MIL is weird :rotfl:

Weaning Question - LO loves solid foods and we are doing purees/mashed stuff and BLW all mixed together :D However she has taken a real shine to porridge, fruity porridge (i.e Hipp Organic Banana porridge) and pureed fruits. She likes sweet veggies (BNS, carrot, S potato) as well and seemed to like tomato based meals, but getting her to have anything more than one spoonful of anything green is proving to be a messy and hardwork affair. Oh and she loves yoghurt - natural or with fruit puree in.

AK recipes aren't really helping. I can't decide if she is being difficult, developed a sweet tooth, (which I have been trying to avoid by only offering water, not juice and offering veg as often as fruit, no sugary rusks etc) or if she's just taking her time. Can anyone suggest anything to help? I need/want to start introducing a bit of protein and obviously want to have this with veggies but feel our range is limited. I tried some pasta, which she seemed to like but needs to trya few more times before the lumps are handled with efficiency!!! When I read this back though it's not as bad as I thought.....sorry perhaps I'm rambling. Anyway - your thoughts are all welcome. Ladybird, you and Izzy are just ahead of us how are you getting on? What about you and Violet 3?

red - have you looked at the possibility of extending your ML or whether you could afford to stay home more?

Personalised gifts question? I thought these were all a bit naff before LO got here :rotfl: however it's my sisters bday next month and I need to buy her a wee token present from LO. We've done the mug idea lots already - anyone know of anything a bit different and not too expensive out there? Is there such a thing as being able to personalise an apron or a wooden spoon or something?????

Alexandra has been out cold for an hour now with Raffi firmly over her head :rotfl: If you pull it off though she wakes up *sigh*
She had her jabs this morning at 11ish and then a huge 180ml bottle of formula - I'm building up a fab store of boob juice in the freezer which is making me feel a lot happier. That way hopefully she can have boobjuice and only have formula when we're in a hurry :)
I'm a bit down too - feeling odd... Hubby is out bowling and then for an Indian tonight with work as 1 of his developers is going back to India and another is off for some reason or other - shouldn't be much later than 9 he thinks although that normally means 10... Then in Sept at some point he's off to India for a week with work - showing the client the call centre over there or something like that.
I'm just stuck here at home with a baby (whom I love dearly!) and a seriously limited social life... Oh and still no "how's your father" thanks to AF and DH "not being in the mood - stressed from work" - I'm not amused!

Oh well on the upside the livingroom looks half decent today - managed to clean it before the nurses came out to give Alexandra her jabs this morning by plonking her in her bouncing chair with toys to reach out and grab and try to eat... And at least I have have whatever I fancy for dinner as himself won't be here.

It was the going down that I never liked - I was always worried I might accidentally lose my grip on the pram and it would run away.

I worry about that too susan  thare's a road in Cardiff where it's a 50mph with a green man crossing across it, with sloping pavement down to the road. I'm all in favour of slopes, cos kerbs are a bit of a pain with a buggy, but I'm often having scary visions of the pram rolling!

In my usual cautious way, we have made a little back up wrist strap out of one of those conference delegate badge straps (IYKWIM) and it goes round my wrist and the pram handle, with about 10 ins of slack.

Probably a bit over-cautious, but it makes me feel better!:D

hugs for sparkle. How awful :(

I went to rhyme-time again today, and saw someone I haven't seen for years, more of a friend of a friend, but very nice! Her baby is 8 months old. I gave her my number so maybe we'll do some 'play dates' or sommat?

Mel, hugs for you. Sounds like you've done all you can to work out a plan so you could stay, how disappointing for it not to be doable :( What's DH's line on it, just a 'oh that's the way it is get on with it' or is he up for finding something if you try it and it's just too hard?

    hello to everyone else!

MrsT - I have days a bit like that, then just as I start to feel sorry for myself I have a really good, busy day and it re-sets my internal emotional clock. I'm putting it down to still having raging hormones ;)
