:( my friend is on the news talking about his brother who was killed in afghanistan :(

sorry to hear about this :(
I got a "look" from HV when I said I end up having to feed her to sleep.

Lady - going to ramble so apologies in advance. Firstly ignore your HV. Things are only a problem if they are a problem for you and your LO. Secondly, we've had the same issue.

I found that LO was getting tired sooner than I had realised. the quicker I catch her the more luck I have in helping her go to sleep. as soon as she gets overtired it is harder and takes longer (like today:rolleyes:) I now watch carefully for her signs about 2 hrs after has wakened and as soon as I see her rubbing her eyes/getting cranky etc I pick her up and sit on the sofa. I hold her in her favourite position and hold her firmly while shshing and patting her bottom/stroking her hair. She fights it most of the time, for how long depends on how tired she is. If she screams and screams I usually stop - put the tv on for her and then try again in 15 mins. she normally falls off anywhere from 1 minute of cuddling to 5 minutes, but often I hold onto her until she's deeply asleep, before putting her in her cot.

Sometimes at night she falls asleep before finishing her bottle. I don't see anything wrong with that - she's just tired that's all. Otherwise we do as above.

During the morning nap I put her in my bed and get in with her and help her get comfy. She wriggles around and finally gets comfy and I storke her back/hair etc and she drifts off - sometimes very quickly other times it feels like ages!

She won't go to sleep on her own - even if I was to leave her for days without sleep she still wouldn't fall asleep by herself! She's a stubborn madam like me and hates the idea of missing out on anything - I think that's why she likes me being in bed too!;)

Keep going - YOU ARE DOING A GOOD JOB.

Ladybird, no tips for you sorry, I've been lucky with babies who love to sleep and the few times I have experienced it it was short lived. Does she have/will she take a dummy? Maybe you have to set aside a few days of sheer hell and just let her scream? Big hug anyway!

I tried feeding Amber with that breastflow bottle, she was sucking away for 15mins and managed to get a whole 10mls if that! Has anyone had better luck? Is anyone needing a spare 150ml one?

Off to make egg free cookies to satisfy my sugar craving :D

the vet told me 6 months or when he shows signs of needing them off i.e. spraying everywhere  i might have to exaggerate a bit if this continues! he is only 4 months and driving me mad! and he attacks me all the time, i've permanently covered in kitty scratches

he doesnt smell too much, there is only one and i use posh cat litter though lol! its £16 a bag but it does last about 2 months so its quite good really. its just the frantic scrabbling that got to me, he was always pulling the liner down and "going" on that  and would scratch the litter out of all sides! :naughty:

me too :( i want that awesome pirate pool sami got! i showed that to OH and he was so jealous!

i just watched 4 ingredients on the good food channel and i wasnt impressed :( never mind, i'm watching barefoot contessa now, i've seen this one before and she makes the most AMAZING looking chocolate truffles!

Ah see I'm a mink and buy Tesco Value lmao. I would buy more dearer stuff if it worked! I go through about 20kg a month for those two though, I don't want to be spending OTT on litter esp when they are fat ******* and cost enough in that as it is :D

Where did you get your hooded litter tray from? I wanted the Van ness one from Petplanet but after waiting 4weeks and still no delivery I cancelled it

    Long post rant alert warning!!!!!!

i am so cross right now.
approx 2 momths ago, maybe more, i left my mothercare pick n mix stroller in to be repaired as it completely gave way while my daughter was sitting in it.
i was practically shouted at and told that they couldnt do anything because it was my fault due to me not opening the buggy properly. to which my reply was that it could not have been, as my daughter would not be able to actually sit in it if it wasnt opened properly. I stood my ground and the [STRIKE]old witch[/STRIKE] sales assistant said that it would have to be sent away to the manufacturer to determine the fault and it would be 4-5 weeks.

this was the same time frame in which i was due to have christopher. i said that that was fine, and she gave me a replacement buggy. she took my name and number and said she would get in contact when it came back. I asked if i needed a receipt or anything for the replacement buggy or watever and was told no, it would be fine.

so, i waited, and christopher arrived, and then couple weeks passed by, so last wednesday (chrsitopher being 3 weeks old, so therefore waiting 7/8 weeks) i visited the store to see wht was going on. only to find out there is NO record of my buggy being sent away or even them receiving it!!!!
the sales assistant i was talking to happened to be the assistant manager and was very nice, a lot nicer than the first persion i encountered. she said that she would sort it out for me and phone me later that day, or at latest the next day when she had spoekn to the girls she thought might have dealt with me.

can u guess what happened?? im still waiting for her to fone!! i rang the store about 5 minutes ago,the assistant manager isnt in, her day off, and the girl on the phone went and checked out the back and there is no sign of my buggy there.!!!!

anyone any clue how to go about making a formal complaint to mothercare?

Kellymom has some good information about medications:
    http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/aap-approved-meds.html#Antibiotics

If you print off the information, your dentist might be willing to prescribe. A lot of doctors and dentists just say nothing is suitable, but that really isn't the case, it just takes a bit of effort for them to look it up!

Feely just because a drug has a license in the US doesn't mean it has a UK license or even that it's approved for use whilst BFing in the UK... :)

Speak to the GP and ask if they can recommend an AB that is suitable for the abcess and can be taken whilst BFing.

    I feel like crying.

Keira is an absaloute nightmare when I pick her up from nursery, not only does it give me a sore head, it's bloody embarrassing, she's the only kid there doing a full on screaming paddy, she never normally does that. I had to carry her all the way home in the !!!!ing rain as she refused to walk cause she didn't want to go home.

What am I supposed to do? Im not putting up with this everyday

I think both I and my brother only did this once each... slightly different but we did it in a supermarket both times I think lol - Mum basically turned, told us that fine, SHE was going, we could stay where we were, Bye! And then she'd walk off out of sight (round the end of the aisle!) - Odd how fast we'd realise that having a tantrum wasn't getting us anywhere... Mum was however just watching us from round the corner of the aisle so not like she just walked off - she just wanted us to think she had ;)

Whoever posted about the cat - it's not age :) what is important is the weight and size of the cat. My cats were done at 4 and 5 months old :)

Mothercare really do either get it wrong when they get it wrong don't they?! Your not the first I've heard ranting about shoddy aftersales care. Or even just any sort of customer care or even getting orders right... An email or phonecall (or both) to head office would be my first step.
