I'm trying to be more OS too... just difficult when Alex is being grinchy :) Otherwise I can hang her in her door bouncer in the kitchen and she keeps an eye on me - or in her bouncy chair :) She likes watching me work I think :rotfl:
I want to get some more beetroot, spinach, rocket and maybe carrots planted on the allotment... not quite sure when I'll get time to do it all though  It's like Alex isn't quite big enough for sitting in her chair down there yet and the weather isn't nice enough to let her bumble on a blanket... *sigh*
    Oh well :)

Just read a few random pages as there are too many to catch up.

Feelie I like your new signature.

It's getting cooler here but Alice refuses to sleep under the covers. She doesn't just kick them off in her sleep - she makes an active choice not to have the covers on and seems to sleep fine without them. We do have a couple of fleecy sleepsuits for her for the winter though.

But then I'm not confident enough to feed in public yet so have to express before we go out (not even in our own coffee shop, but I am very uptight about 'personal' things).
Before Alice was 11 months the most public place I had ever fed in was the car (either in a quiet place or I put muslins up in the windows. Very early on I had far too much exposed when feeding to even consider doing it in public.
Talking of cakes. I announced my pregnancy on the Saturday, and my Mum had thrown out my top tier on the Friday! It had gone a bit manky looking and she didn't think I'd be using it any time soon.
My parents cake had gone mouldy by the time I was baptised and it was less than 2 years.
Bruno, I'm not sure how big LO is, but you've mentioned using a sling while out and about. That wouldn't be an option for sleeping?
I second that suggestion. I couldn't begin to count the number of times the sling was the only thing that worked to settle Alice. (It was also very useful for naps when out until she got to about 15 months and wouldn't sleep in it anymore.)

I'm feeling all Annabel Karmel ish, as have just made 8 petit filous sized prune yoghurts for fergus at just under 8p per portion (petit filous are 19p per portion) and these have no hidden extras :)

method: 300g onken full fat yoghurt, plus half a tin of asda prunes in juice, no added sugar, drained and pitted. Stir and mash until you get the smoothness you want!

:money::money::money:doesn't sound like much, but we went out for lunch yesterday and a friend of a friend who was there, her 15 month old has 2 a day, so over a year that's a £70 saving :) I am going to vary the flavours though!!!
Sounds good to me. I've never understood why people buy special baby yoghurts. (No offence to people who do - everyone chooses to do different things.) You can make it even cheaper by making your own yoghurt.

awww thanks! but I'm not managing to hit the target in my sig very well at the moment :o Perhaps we'll try to get on track together? ;)

Good idea. Tho im not sure i could get anywhere near your target even if there was just 2 of us. I use my slow cooker quite often but always for the same meals, so ive been looking on the slow cooker tread on OS to look for some new ideas x

    :)

Thats my problem...i was doing well till i had Rose now i just dont find i have long enough....I know i could try a bit harder once she is in bed but im shattered by that point that all i want to do is have a bath and go to bed.

Do you all recommend the door bouncers? i wonder if this would be a good idea. I was also looking a a bumbo but they looked quite hard and even tho i could see they had their uses i was concerned that we wouldnt use it so much as she would be sat at floor level all the time?

Is she big enough for a pushchair? That's what we used to use in the garden (well backyard) the first summer.

She is but she gets bored REALLY quickly :) Apparently watching mum digging and planting is NOT interesting enough... *sigh*

    Hi Everyone,

Not had chance to catch up yet.

Major issues with DH yesterday over the car - but all sorted now.

Been through the finances to - we can afford to spend money on holiday as long as I keep track of it.

Introduced DD to proper Indian food yesterday - took her to a local restaurant that does a buffet on a Sunday - she like poppadoms, naan bread, potato pakora, chicken korma, chicken tikka, chicken tikka masala, and a dish containing chickpeas and cauliflower. So quite impressed really as she has only had my pathetic attempts to cook indian at home.

Off to Cheshire Oaks today to get DH a new pair of trainers and see if Pumpkin Patch has got a sale on - their style really seems to suit DD. May also sneak a visit to the Cadburys shop too, to stock up for holiday.

Glad your DD enjoyed her indian buffet MDW. Sounds yummy.

I've not caught up either, going out for lunch with my best friend and Keira to the Ashvale chipper, erm bad for my diet but £7.90 for a 3 course meal and Keira eats free. Bargains.

Oh quick Q, if anyone here as a Slow cooker (I'd ask on OS but I think that thread on SC's there goes quite slow) I have chicken thighs that need to be cooked today, not sure what time I'll be home, would it be okay to throw the thighs in the SC with veg and toms or whatever and leave it, do I need to add water? Last time I added water to a sausage casserole it was gross.

Or if anyone has better ideas on what to throw the chicken in with, it would be most grateful,my mind is a blank canvas at the mo, and chicken and tinned toms doesn't seem all that nice somehow!

Do you have any Indian or chinese sauces in the cupboard.... we do our curries and chinese in SC.... think you would need to add a bit of water with the chicken to be honest... are you cutting the thighs up ?
