No - the ones that I am thinking about have been banned by a lot of the schools around here because the creater/author was convicted of a nasty child-related crime. Some schools had everything destroyed apparently, others have just refused to use it anymore after supplies run out.
Nothing to do with a change in curriculum.
Have quickly googled and can't find any scandal (my friend who is a reception teacher told me about it) so it must be something else (but a very similar kind of stuff).
ooh I'll have to ask my momma see if she knows anything!

Oh with everything else going on I forgot to let you know what happened with the car (skip if you're not interested lol) :)
They basically serviced it for free, they are reviewing at least 10 other cars the same/virtually the same with similar milage/types of miles/miles per gallon to see if there are other cars with the same low service interval problem.
As we pointed out to them - the mis selling point aside - if the car should have up to 20,000 miles between services and is being sold as a "long service" thingy then we'd expect more than 10,000 miles between the services. 10,000 is what there is on the Santa Fe and every other car - so their "long service" thing is incorrect at the best of times if that is the case. If however our car is the only one with these short service intervals then obviously there is a problem with OUR car... as it's less than a year since we bought it that ain't acceptable... so we're monitoring ours too as well as VW monitoring any other cars that have similar conditions... If we'd got up to 17,000 or 18 then we'd have grumbled about the misselling but I wouldn't have been worried about the car having a fault - as it is the concern is almost more that there is an engine problem with the car causing this...

Rhys is on Kindergen, which is for babies with kidney issues, and Thick'n'Easy, which is to help with the reflux (make the milk stay down). It's the Kindergen which is £28 a tin - it was the paediatric renal specialist at Notts who put him on it so Grimsby couldn't really argue. Suddenly everyone seemed to be ordering it for us and we ended up with five tins in the cupboard

Is he not on anything at all yet - for the reflux, I mean?
  • A good friend of mine daughter is 16 months, not sure how much she weighs but she's diddy and is on the 0.4th centile and is in molly's old 6-9m clothes which are very big on her still. Nothing wrong with her, she's just small. Looks funny though as people think she has a very advanced walking baby, not a titchy toddler.

Quick log on to read the last page and in reply to sami b as one of the "originals", no i don't feel pushed out by the new mummies its just this thread now moves so fast sometimes up to 10 pages a day, i just can't keep up and don't want to spend hours online reading only to do the same thing the next day. I just don't have the time. So i just log on every few days or once a week and read the last page.

Its bound to happen though as the mummies grow in numbers, its been over 3 years since i started the pregnancy thread and the parent thread will be 3 in december or january.
    oh thanks for that :)
Do you feel proud that you started it all? You should ;)

yes he has been on domperidon and omipirisol(sp?) also gaviscon and the thickening stuff. but they are going along the lines of it being a milk allergy. he has been put on a milk that should help reflux but has made him even more ill. on researching it my sis has found out it contains a milk protein which is one of the things she has been told not to give him lol!
right im off to bed cant keep my eyes open and erin has fallen asleep before i could give her calpol for her teeth?

El went down early tonight as she was sleepy and when asked if she wanted bed she said yes, so usual shower then off to bed. She can sometimes chatter away for an hour and more. So tonight I heard her chuckling to herself and ohhhh and ahhhhhs coming from her room. I only check her once and that is just before I come to bed. I've jst done that to find the curtains pulled back and hanging in her cot so she has obviously been gacking out the window and generally amusing herself, tired, my a**e she was tired :rotfl:

  • Oh Caz, that's awful, I hope she has some joy soon with the doctors :(

I forgot to say earlier, but Izzy seems to be getting older every second (yes, I know that's a daft thing to say but you know what I mean)... DH will definitely notice the difference when he gets back on Friday. She was with my mum this afternoon, and I don't know if she was pulling herself up a lot while she was there too, but she spent the rest of the evening trying to pull herself up to standing. She has been doing it up to her knees for about a week and she will stand up if I hold her hands, or stand her against something she can cling on to, but she is definitely trying to get up to standing by herself now. She's only just got the hang of crawling - I'm going to have her on leading reins by the time she goes to nursery at this rate!
