But as a whole as brothers and sisters we barely acknowledge each other...never have done, right through our childhood. I blame the big age gaps...so you see, because ds1 and ds2 are close in age and are best of friends/inseparable, I feel (know) ds3 is going to feel left out and have no one to grow up with. Dh doesn't understand that because he is one of two boys and they were close in age and good friends throughout childhood so he can't imagine what it feel like to live in a house full of brothers and sisters where none want to play with you (or are too young for you to want to play with)
Ok I'll take you through my complex family - it'll make you feel normal
Me - '79 (just)
My half brother - '86
My half sister - '86
My stepsister - '74
My stepbrother - '76
I have another stepsister that I haven't spoken to since we were about 4...
My half brother and I were like cat and dog growing up. I loathed him with a passion. Love him to bits now
My half sister we had no contact with (due to her mum) until she was 16. It's only in the last 2 years we've really started to actually speak
My step siblings... well we only speak when we HAVE to
I never hand on heart played with my siblings... I had a few mates but on the whole I preferred my own company - I'm a book worm and a horse nut so spent most of my time in nearby stables, reading books or with my friends... not with my brother
But as we have grown up then I think we've all grown closer - despite being in different countries. We don't speak regularly but when he's in trouble he calls, if he's got girlfriend problems he messages me and my sister and I are gradually getting closer too. But it's taken effort on my part because we didn't know what we really had in common... I think we didn't grow really close until our nan died... we spent many hours together sat by her bed in the night and I know nan would be pleased that we found comfort in eachothers company during those dark hours... :A
So you don't NEED a close sibling - I managed without oneI think I'm fairly normal

Chris and Edgar have almost exactly the same age gap as me and my sister for that reason, my sister is my best friend and I hope my boys will be best friends too
Susan I got my WTP ice trays from Tesco (£1.75 each) but I have since seen them cheaper in poundstretcher and wilkinson0 -

Oh and thanks for the advice Susan. I think I'll concentrate on getting her to recognize letters, and numbers for that matter, she doesn't seem to know what number 3 is if you ask her to point it out, or any other number for that matter.
I do read to her, every night in fact. The chronicles of narnia are great books! I don't actually own them, I have the lemony snickkett series, unfortunate events. OH bought it for me as I like Kidult (read - harry potter) but I found it quite "babyish" so maybe that is ideal for her. Just read a chapter a night or something.0 -

Abi has had a great day and im exhausted lol! the pram turned up this afternoon and we picked the scarey doll up from my sisters. the doll hasnt been out of her sight and is now tucked up in bed lol! thanks for all the birthday wishes just a shame my mum couldnt have phoned her granddaughter:mad:
i was looking through the info my sister has to give to the hosp tom and the baby has went from the 75th centile when born to the 2nd:eek: the reason they dont want to put him on this special milk is due to it being £26 per tin? we had him and erin side by side and got a pic and he looks so skinny in it compared to her. i cant believe that they can let a baby get so ill to keep their budget???What's for you won't go past you0 -
I've just been out to put rubbish down the chute, and the caretaker (who has an allotment next to ours) has put a bag of runner beans on my door handle... I assume it was him anyway. Either that or I have a very random stalker...
I may have to start eating runner beans for breakfast as well as lunch and dinner at this rate. Good thing you can freeze them. In fact I've just found a recipe for runner bean chutney. So it's a choice between runner beans for breakfast now, or chutney for every meal once the harvesting season stops ... it's a tough choiceMaybe you can make runner beans into pancakes?!

That's awful Caz, won't the doctors give them it on prescription or something if they can't afford to pay that? I'd be selling things if my baby was loosing so much weight and I needed to buy that milk.
How old is the baby, and can't they maybe give it some food to help chub it up?0 -
