  • Hope someone can help.

I went out on sunday night, got really drunk, had a kebab and dropped mild sauce ( made with yoghurt ) all over my new suede boots :o :rotfl: .

Any tips on how to clean them now my hangover has gone  .

    Thanks.
  • I used to hold mine over a boiling kettle and brush with a suede brush. This got most things off, but I don't know about yogurt based goo!

    Good luck.

Rubbing with fine grain pumice stone is great for suede, but you have to be very very very careful as it will actually take off some of the suede, so it largely depends on the size of the stain and where exactly it is. I'd use pumice only as a very last resort.

Alternatively if they are expensive boots it might be worth taking them to a dry cleaner who does suede jackets - you never know. Definitely not OS, this one, though!

Hi - Thank you both for replying. The stain isn't exactly in one place, sort of drops all over. Am gutted now I have read your replies as I think my brand new boots are now ruined :( . Will try the steam off a kettle later unless anyone else has any suggestions.

Personally I would wash them using a damp sponge and then put them in the airing cupboard, but not near a direct heat source like a radiator, to dry. Then brush them up. It can leave them a little less new than before but better than writing them off. Or if you can afford it get some suede cleaner from a shoe shop.
  • Any suggestions on this? Has anyone had any recent experience as to what works?
