  • newspaper and an iron may work. place paper over the stain, dry iron it and the fat will be absorbed by the paper.

I'd wait for other options before doing this, it works on wax, really not sure about fat.

blotting paper and a hot iron works best, you could trykitchen roll or 'J' cloths.
  • Presumably it doesnt matter if I dont do these straight away? And the heat wont damage the suede? I don't want to make things worse!

Another option if you are worried about the possible heat damage is to go the other way and freeze the shoe then brush out fat with a fine wire suede brush.
  • The problem is it just looks like a wet mark IYKWIM? But it has stayed looking wet for over an hour so I am presuming it is fat. there isn't anything solid on the boot.
  • I'd take them in to a dry cleaners as soon as they open. They are the experts and if they can't clean them no-one can. UGGs are so expensive it would be worth paying a bit to get them sorted rather than risk making them worse.

I hope you are successful - Happy New Year

I wouldn't use heat. Heat will set stains.

  • They're boots. They're suede. They'll be dirty in a week anyway.

    Don't worry.
  • I've done the same to my uggs! I ruined them, tried washing them with the Ugg cleaner and made one boot much lighter than the other!! I would take them to somewhere like Timpsons. Ugg say don't use hot water on the boots, only cold. So I would't try heat. If not, there is a website that does repairs where you send them in to the people. However I cant remeber the website...
  • My best tip for getting rid of stains from Uggs or Ugg-alikes is to very gently rub out the offending mark with a suede stone (like a pumice stone, but finer). I have in the past also used a child's eraser to good effect. Once you've managed to get rid of the stain, I would recommend spraying all over with a proprietory stain/water repellant for suede.

    Good luck
