Wol's Riverbank tales: Part 3 Restoration

Well I had a slight weep earlier tonight while watching DIY SOS - probably about time and I can feel that there is more brewing
:o!
Ginger is back at the vets for 48 hours - the naughty little boy chewed through all his stitches last night and the wound was totally open this morning _pale__pale_- yet another 90 minute round trip:( Poor nice Italian vet is distraught and we spent considerable time today discussing the finer points of piggie anatomy and how to fashion some type of collar (or piggie "boob tube" :rotfl::rotfl:) to prevent him doing it again - Ginger will be having a third operation tomorrow which will now require some type of "plastic surgery" to ensure sufficent tissue/packing to hopefully get the wound knitting together properly (Please keep paws crossed as 3 anaesthetics in so short a time is really chancing it _pale__pale_),. Having said that - I am completely confident in this vet's capabilities despite everything that;s happened. This vet is very very knowledgeable/competent/experienced with exotics and has always done his best for Ginger. If it weren;t for him, Ginger would be pushing up the daisies by now. He really IS in the best hands.
I am knackered as i was nursing Grommie til 3am who was having a very bad repiratory episode :eek::eek:. I really did not expect him to be alive this morning when I woke up - but somehow he has clung on and is now back and chipper and was out on the grass this afternoon with Muffin :j. I spoke to Italian vet about the meds and we have made adjustments to account for what we think is Grommie having low blood pressure, so hopefully this type of episode will not happen again
I have bitten the bullet and cancelled order with flooring timber mill after my flooring finisher told me this afternoon that the stuff they were trying to sell me was not fit for purpose - I had given them one working day to respond to a "way forwards" suggestion that was actually in their favour nd they didn;t reply. needless to say, the timber mill are now being complete !!!!!! - so I have referred it to credit card dispute resolution. :T:T (still now have to find new source of floorboards - will cost more money and will delay build contract by at least 4 weeks:mad::()
However this has really taught me - if a supplier pees you around right at the start - reagrdlessof how much you want the product and don;t think there is an alternative, DON'T PERSIST AND PLACE THE ORDER.... FIND SOMEONE ELSE INSTEAD!! It'll save time and money in the long run.
BBC 3 Cowboy builders rang and said "try Watchdog as your story is really important and they can respond much more quickly". So I have just spent an hour putting down my "epic" case history to Watchdog - and guess what!!! The post didn;t go through their system and I can;t recover it by pressing the "back" button :mad::mad::mad:
(Does that sound familiar?? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) Maybe I'll try again tomorrow
I DID do a lot of ironing last night..:j..and mow the lawns and clean out the piggies this afternoon. :T:T
And all piggies were out in the runs today for at least 3 hours - first time this year :j:j
And although I didnt get to trasnplant my seedlings today - I at least watered everthing in pots ...so it will live to grow another day:D
Right, off to do second round of piggie meds and go to bed.
Hopefully tomorrow I can improve on today

With cats and dogs the vets tend to put an Elizabethan-style ruff around their necks (animal's necks, not the vet's!) so the little blighters can't chew their stitches out. Now there's a game for you, Wol - which of your guinea pigs would most resemble Blackadder? And which one Baldrick? One life - your life - live it!0

Hey Wol just having a catch up. So sorry to hear about Iroko and the other problems you are having. Hope you are ok.
Great news about Ginge, hope he starts to feel better soon! xxxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Hi Wol, how's you and the family?
I would suggest any large posts you do (here or elsewher), you copy into word or notepad before hitting the send key. Another thing i've noticed that sometimes works (only sometimes though), instead of pressing the back button on your browser, right click and select back. Not sure if this looks at your history pages rather than tries to access the webpage again, but it's worked on a few sites for me.
