Trouble is, I am too far down the line to get the benefit of the Cowboy builders programmes. Just messaged another one this evening wanting case studies..... but I realise I am too far down the line (i.e. competent - my "bitter" interpretation only) for these types of prorgammes. (Why weren;t they doing this type of thing last year - I would have been an ace candidate )
As things stand, I am not looking for them to put right my house (so therefoe they are notinterested) - but I Do want them to draw attention (even if only a short feature) as to how innocent people get ripped off during a substantial insurance claim for water or fire damage and the insiduous circle for rectificiation by suppliers and agents that seems to surround these types of situations (again so therefore they are not interested).
I have the evidence - photographic, expert reports etc - and I'm doing them a favour as I am paying for the rectifications myself so they don;t have to shell out....so it's a good story with minimal payout.....but TV only seems to want "immediate drama" and "confrontation"
Hmmmph.....Bring back the old style Panorama :rotfl::rotfl:

Hi Wol
Have just caught up on the last few days and at first was pleased to hear of house progess and ginger's improvements and I was thinking things really seemed to have turned a corner for you, so I was very sad to reach the news about poor Iroko, he was indeed a handsome chap from his pic and it is such a shame for you to have lost another of your piggie family. Thinking of you and hope you find him a good final resting spot in your garden.
Sounds like finally you have some decent builders who not only are willing and capable of doing a good job but also understand all that the previous criminals put you through. Being top totty is a nice side bonus!
Really hope as the house is repaired you too can heal yourself against all that they did to you, your home and your life.
Onwards and upwards and hoping that you have more good news come your way soon, and that the bad news and sad news is over for now.
Take careA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
There is nothing worse than ignorant men..I had an exprience with one yesterday and I admit that I have taken him at his word "I don't want to work with you or anybody else" he didnt know that I am in a networking group thas has 30,000 members - needless to say they have been warned not to use him for anything:rotfl:
As for your building problems - have you tried contacting Dom Littlewood? https://www.dominiclittlewood.com - he does various programmes on the Beeb and I see that he is currently preparing a new series of his Don't Pay get Dom (I think that's what it is called) where he champions people that have been ripped off by unscrupulous characters. Details of how to contact him are on his website.0 -
I like Dom! He's a good bloke!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Chin up, Wol - you may feel that you have not achieved anything this month, but you have - you have achieved confirmation that you were right all along about the problems with your house and that you were not just a crazy woman imagining things. You have achieved the commencement of repairing and renewing your home, and hopefully sweeping away the bad karma. All this, and top totty builders too - what more can a woman ask for???One life - your life - live it!0
