Thanks Wol...I certainly am coming to the Rave ...treatment allowing..wouldn't miss it for the World x

Hope you banned that plumber from your house and sorry to hear that you don't know whats causing the problems...

Just a thought could it be chemicals on the hay or on dandelions if they come from the side of the road?

Hmmm....back late from counselling after queuing up at local Sainsburys checkout for 45mins :mad:

Lots covered in session tonight - head spinning with it all - but I have clearly taken a massive step forwards tonight according to psychotherapist :T. The last few sessions have felt a bit frustrating/non-productive but today everything just seemed to click into place. One thing that is now clear - the booze is being used purely to aid disassociation (ie cause numbness). It's my way of shutting off the very harmful emotions and trauma from both past and recent events and preventing myself from becoming totally overwhelmed ..(i.e. self-protection) .and I am now recognising the triggers and why.

Understanding what's happening takes away the fear and in fact will now make it far easier to deal with new things/situations - hence not having to numb myself tonight :D despite a lot of painful things discussed today :o.

Now at last I understand why psychotherapist has not seemed too perturbed about my drinking and a few months ago even once hinted that I shouldn;t be so hard on myself for not going cold turkey as at times the booze might actually be serving a useful purpose. :) . And at least now I know that the effects I had been attributing to the booze these last couple of years (short term memory loss etc) were actually my brain "doing it;s self protection disassociation thingy" rather than my liver/pancreas etc going out to lunch :D

Expert witness report on Bodget builders should arrive tomorrow and got email today from them which was far more supportive than I had hoped..:j...quote "continued evidence of poor workmanship"........report "provides an adequate picture of failure"...plus some guidance on what happens next :T:T:T
This will now go to the solicitors firm appointed by the insurance company to handle the legal expenses claim and hopefully they will now be able to tell me if they will indeed cover my legal expenses and allocate a solicitor to my case

No word from Ombudsman yet - rang them today and they are still on annual leave. Que sera sera......

New top totty plasterer in today :D (lovey lad......down Wol down :rotfl:)
    - he has done a really good job and was appalled at the standard of the previous plastering that he found :), (so he put in extra effort and stayed til some unearthly hour tonight but (hopefully) won;t be billing the full time...bless him) He too is now coming to the Rave :D

Not so good - doors being sanded and prepped today IN THE KITCHEN  (because of the rain) but it means white dust is now being walked throughout the house and into my carpeted areas :mad:...I will rectify that tomorrow ;)

Piggies all still holding their own - I was amazed to see Grommie was getting a bit frisky with Muffin tonight :o:rotfl:Can't remember the last time Grommie felt well enough to "strut his stuff" ;) so obviously the new meds regime is doing him some good. He has suddenly lost quite a bit of weight which I initially was alarmed by but now think this is hopefully due to loss of the fluid on his lungs courtesy of the diuretic - his breathing certainly sounds better (and no, piggies do not "heavy breathe" when they are courting a lady piggie :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:......they just "rumblestrut")
Beechie on the other hand put on 150g overnight :eek:...which means he has a fluid accumulation problem so have upped his diuretic and am hoping to see him losing weight in the next few days. His breathing atm is not very good. :(
Missed call from nice Italian vet tonight about Ginger as i was out - will speak to him tomoz and maybe Ginger will be home by the weekend :D

(Iroko has now been laid to rest under a beautiful new red leptospermum in Guinea Grove and a new guinea pig lawn has (finally) been put down in the Monkey Garden :j:j)

Want to spend some time back on my diary this weekend and answer a few posts that have been made from various peeps....and also hopefully get back on a few others.

Taxi - so glad to see you posting on your thread and on others -you;re doing grand lass!! :T:T:T:T . I know my family member did a lot of research on nutrition so will go through it with them when I see them this weekend and PM you ;) ....they opted for the rainbow diet I think it was called. Really pleased to hear you are still intent on coming to the Rave - thinking back to my family members experience, I think the timing will fit in perfectly for your new "schedule" - although after the op you will need to exercise your arm to ensure you will be able to lift a glass properly by the end of July ;)
Bless you - Thanks for the good suggestions - spent long time discussing environmental factors with vet the other day ref chemicals/wood resin/concrete dust/hay/urine ammonia etc - will update the diary this weekend on our thoughts. Bottom line is - even if it was environmental, something would have shown up on the lung histopathology sections- which is why the vet has said "this is all very weird" and has himself run out of ideas.

Very tired from today and going to bed in a min - lots of paperwork/stuff to go through with builder tomorrow but then it's the bank holiday and I can get back out in the garden and finish off my hanging baskets....and start weeding/clearing the flower beds which haven;t been touched since last september :eek:

My lovey house (and garden) is finally on the road to being mended - yes it does at the moment look like a bomb site .... but most of the really obvious wonkiness has now been put right...:D..even the doors now shut :T:rotfl:.......and despite the fact the kitchen will now be delayed until end of next week before it is back up and running..:(...I cannot believe how much of a weight is lifted now that I don;t have to look at those wonky lines anymore :j

    Nite all

Wol, thats brilliant! I'm so pleased that you're seeing light at the end of the tunnel, even if its a long way off yet.

Taxi, if you can't drink (and it wouldn't surprise me) we can think about non alcoholic cocktails, they can be tres speshul ....

Wol, I am pleased that you are feeling much more chipper. I was thinking about you this morning when I was watching Don't Get Done Get Dom. There was a little old lady on there this morning who was having terrible trouble battling with her electricity board after they had done some works which caused the cliff behind her house to fall into her garden and onto her house. Her insurance company refused to pay because it was a natural phenomenon when in reality the landslips were caused by destablisation of the cliff..her house was 140 years old and in that time the cliff had never given way. She had employed a solicitor and had a specialist survey done which lay the blame at the electricity board as they had dug their cable trenches so close to the edge of the cliff that they had destablised the surface and removed vegetation that was holding it all together. The electricity board had their survey done and they found that the landslips were not caused by them but by removal of vegetation by her. Dom got on the case - and in the end the power company decided that they would pay the necessary £80K to stablise the cliff, would put her up in a hotel all expenses paid until the work was done (she wanted to stay in her home) and they would pay the £15K that she had already paid out in legal fees.:j They were also going to pay to have her home repaired. Her home was deemed to be so unsafe that the BBC wouldnt venture onto her property at all, even the chap that the BBC suggested do the survey agreed that it was totally unsafe for anyone to be in her back garden or her kitchen or bathroom. Hence me thinking about you.

Wol...I am going to have to give you some tea with bromide in it to calm your ardour towards the totty:rotfl: Good news on the piggies too.

I did something for me yesterday (v.unusual I know), I booked onto a photography course to learn how to get more out of my digital camera, the course has cost me £50 instead of £95 and it is taking place at Brill in Oxfordshire on 4 July. This event starts with lunch and then a tour taking photographs and then ends up at the pub for dinner (food not included in price) and the event finishes at 10pm, today I rang the pub where we would be taking some photographs and have booked a single room for the night at £65 with breakfast - a bit steep perhaps but it's probably the only 'holiday' I shall have this year..the £50 is money that my parents gave me for christmas with the instructions to spend it on something for me.

Taxi - sorry to hear of your news, however, don't fret about not drinking - I tend not to drink alcohol and certainly not at parties having had a bad experience before so I shall be sticking to non-alcoholic stuff too.:D
