Hi All
Have been having a bit of "disassociation" time ( at least that's what the counsellor calls it). Apparently all the building bodges being uncovered coupled with the new floorboards fiasco just sent the brain into overload and thence out for a rather long lunch at the restaurant at the end of the universe :rotfl:.
Anyhow I spent a lovely day yesterday at Leonardslee gardens, deafened the neighbours (and the piggies) playing the piano yesterday evening and picked up young Ginger from the vet today. I havent; had any wine tonight which is a first in quite a few weeks.
So here he is the cutey pie, complete with nappy (he is so grumpy :rotfl::rotfl:)
I am NOT looking forward to changing it tomorrow (apparently it took two vet nurses to get the last one on him so what hope have I got)
Kitchen is starting to go back in, I have written and assembled the evidence package to the credit card dispute resolution people, found an alternative (and more local supplier) for my floorboards (with some very nice lads into the bargain) and have definitly been swooning at the top totty working with shirts off today :drool:. What a shame it's forecast to be a lot colder tomorrow:(
Off to bed now as really need to get up early and crack on with loads of outdoor stuff tomorrow.

Ahhh..he looks cute in that nappy.
Don't blame you having time out and can totally undrstand the brain overload.
Hope you get a good nights sleep and wake up feeling refreshed tomorrow.
Take care x0 -
I can't believe an actual piggie has an actual nappy on :rotfl:how cute is that?
Wol, if you've needed to dissociate, so be it, it sounds like you had deep need for it. Nice to hear you've managed without wine last night too. And outdoor stuff (as long as its not more piggy nappies ) sounds excellent. Have a good one today :kisses3:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ah well - Ginger is back in the vets. Trying to change his nappy this morning caused bleeding....masss panic and emergency trip to vets again.... luckily it would appear the stitches are all still in place (vet was even more relieved than me I think). He is now staying back at the vets until his wounds are better healed (thank goodness)......and luckily i packed his suitcase (dandelion leaves, lettuce, favourite foods and meds) before I took him in this morning.
Another massive sideswipe uncovered today from dodget builders - means more money and more building work to be done......gutted........
Still we are slowly slowly getting there (kitchen units back in and work tops going on hopefully tomoz) and now also making progress in the garden :T:T
Shame the wind has changed and is now much more chilly - no bare chested top totty today

Wol I think you'd be grumpy if you had to wear a nappy and pose for photos as the same time..poor Ginge. Is the vet on your top totty list? Just askin';)
Sorry to hear that yet more dodginess from bodget & scarper has been discovered but its great that the kitchen is being fitted and that you have some rippling muscles to look at.
Excuse me if my typing is a bit skew whiff I had a glass of rose wine tonight and no tea so I am feeling a bit squiffy. I have been invited to a friend's for dinner - he mentioned it tonight saying that his wife had said to ask, I have agreed but said that I feel bad as I cannot invite anyone round to mine because there is nowhere really to sit and have dinner - my camping table won't cope. Had a productive meeting and it looks as though I am on the committee of the DDBC and have been instructed to set up a sub committee to organise this huge anniversary dinner...negotiations need to start tomorrow because the price quoted is bad.
Another opportunity has fallen in my lap today - a chance of working with a Jamie at Home consultant (this is jamie oliver kitchenware)..so watch this space. The copywriter has worked his magic and I am busy copying and pasting the new words onto my website, plus I found out tonight that my blog site has been shown to a large corporate customer of the guy that created it for me so something might come from that.
Anyway I am sending some healing thoughts your way for you and the piggies and especially Ginge. xx0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Thanks Horace....Ginger is obviously decidedly unimpressed with both his nappy and his care chez Wol. Apparently he has a fan club of admiring vet nurses who have all fallen in love with him and were sorry to see him leave last monday so I suspect he has engineered the whole situation so he can extend his stay (at my expense of course - £40 per night :eek:- tsk tsk - premier lodge is cheaper and far more MSE :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.) He is also (when he "deigns to reside chez Wol") completely monoplising your beautiful towels - Beechie and Grommie are getting a bit put out
The vet is cute - and clearly cares very deeply about the animals he treats (he sounded so depressed on the phone when i rang to tell him about Ginger) - but sadlyI wouldn;t put him in totty category - (ahem.....not that I;ve seen him with his shirt off you understand
- normally he is cloaked in an operating gown/scrubs
).
Glad to hear you are extending your sphere of operations .......business is like love - you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find someone who will pay your fee :rotfl::rotfl:. Really hope you get some income coming in soon. You are clearly good at negotiation (especially re purchasing and suppliers) - have you thought about a CIPS course? Perhaps we need to have a chat about that as from my experience there are opportunities for employed and self employed postions for good negotiators...I work with a company down here that purely do negotiations for small companies...and boy do these compaies need a negotiator
BTW - I still have a bed reserved for you for the Rave - and currently you don;t need to share it with anyone ;):D
Catch up soon Hun - let me know precise dates you want to stay here (so we can explore the other opportunities/venues I mentioned previously)...as I am juggling beds/sheets/food/timings etc and currently think I have everything under control :rotfl::rotfl:

Nargleblast wrote: »With cats and dogs the vets tend to put an Elizabethan-style ruff around their necks (animal's necks, not the vet's!) so the little blighters can't chew their stitches out. Now there's a game for you, Wol - (a) which of your guinea pigs would most resemble Blackadder? And (b) which one Baldrick?
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I went on the web researching ruffs for piggies - there are some but tbh they're not brill and it means you have to hand feed with a every long syringe . Vet agrees - hence the "boob tube".
In answer to your questions
a) Bandit (him that rogers everything in sight and is [STRIKE]as cunnning as.....fill in the blanks) [/STRIKE]......as happy as a Frenchman with a pair of self-removing trousers and as cunning as a fox who has just been made Professor of Cunning at Oxford University
b) Hmm..tough one this - either Bailey (because he is so placid and never ruffled)...or Willlow (because he does seem one short of a six pack:rotfl::rotfl:)
Hope the chickies are being "productive" and the hot weather hasn;t put them off laying

Than you everyone for posting - it really IS appreciated. Sorry I;ve been a bit sparse in my replies and thanks recently.:o
Good news - I think I;m getting a handle on what;s going on for me - my counsellor let me sit in on a webinar today and it was brill.
So - I have some type of dissociative trauma stuff going on for me atm - which explains the short term memory loss; lack of attention span, "zoning out" for a day or [STRIKE]two[/STRIKE] ten; why I can;t deal with the continued onslaught of bodget builders misdemeanours...and why I am finding it difficult to cope with the piggies getting ill atm...both mental and physcial symptoms
In short - i am not going mad (thank goodness - I was beginning to think I was!)...nor do I have some horrible metabolic illness (thankgoodness - I was about to book in to see the GP and get a load of bloods done!)
These last few weeks I have had big ups and down - but most importantly I DO feel like progress is being made ....and I am starting to feel a bit better :T
All materials for the build (with the exception of the oven) are now sourced. :j:j. After yesterday and today I am really really hoping there will be no more horrible stuff to uncover from Dodget and Bodget so the budget is now fixed...at £23k :eek::eek:
The worst thing is that we have had the PM results back on Iroko and we are no closer to finding out what is happening with the piggies. Basically all my piggies appear to be suffering from some type of chronic pneumonia for which there is no identifiable cause (all tests for bugs/fungi/viruses etc negative )...and therefore no cure
:(
My poor piggies.....:(:(.......It would appear that each of them will ulitmately lose the ability to breathe and drown in their own fluid - so I have to be extra vigilant to make sure they will not suffer when their time comes.:(:(....and in the mean time nice Italian vet and I have worked out a medication regime to reduce the effects. So the good news is that they will have a good quality of life for more piggy years than perhaps they might have done
It's tough...and expensive...but I brought them into this world and I owe it to them to make sure they have the best quality of life and care...regardless of the cost (despite what some !!!!!! sub-contractor plumber said the other day ...that I should just put a bullet in Gingers brain :mad:.....)
So atm Ginger is doing good- but Grommie and Beechie are really really below par today
.
Willow too has something wrong but hopefully for him it shouldn;t be too serious. He has already seen nice local vet and if needs be he can see (expensive) Italian vet when I go to pick up Ginger later this wheek
As for the house..I think my top totty builder is realising i can only process so much information at any one time...after which I go into cloud cickoo land :rotfl::rotfl:
So inch by inch we are getting there..:T...and at least now I understand what I am facing for both me and the piggies
Finally - please give special thoughts, hugs and prayers for our lovely Taxi tonight.......I'm hoping that despite the shocking news she has received today, she will still feel able to make it down for the Rave :grouphug::grouphug:
where I'm sure she will get much love and support
xxxxx
