Good evening Wol, hope the ankle is starting to feel better. Two months of building work.....at least you can look forward to a fabulous new kitchen, plus the possibility of some semi-naked suntanned totty when the weather gets warmer. Mind you, according to the law of Sod, when the builders show up they will all be pale and flabby with a rear cleavage you could park your bike in......

    You've just described me [STRIKE]labourer[/STRIKE]:eek::eek:
and i'll be back down next week, tickets booked:D

I don't like to see the little guy out numbered:A
them badgers aren't as small and cute as TV would have you believe
(they are fat, dirty and loud:eek::eek:)

Nature is raw in tooth and claw.

I havent seen a cute badger on TV yet - they are big and loud, I sometimes see dead ones on my way to various brekkie meetings.

Wol your ankle is hurting because you won't sit down - b*gger the ironing!

I have managed to lose half a stone in 3 days because I have cut carbs out of my diet - no bread, spuds, pasta or rice - I am living on water, meat, salad, eggs and fruit - cannot face eating raw veg no do I like turkey mince which I bought the other day and cooked last night and it tastes horrid - it doesnt taste like turkey and tastes of nothing.

Am spending the day sorting out the spare bedroom and hopefully I may put a bed in it.

Hi Wol, hope you're feeling a little more settled now. Glad to hear that things businesswise are at least moving in the right direction.

If you're emotions are getting the best of you, just think of me - that should give anyone a good laugh ;)

I don't eat enough fruit or veg and most of the food i eat is either with bread or potatoes. Going to try steamed veg so i'll see if that kills me :undecided
I still buy my lunch so need to find something other than panini's or baguettes without resorting to rabit food. Maybe i'll just stay plump :o - will need to start excercising again now that i'm just about recovered from the last attempt. Got to do something to get rated as totty rather than a tater.

Hopefully the surveyor will be able to add weight to your argument for compensation and show that calling these guys cowboys would be an insult to the cowboys. I'd be looking for 'criminal negligence' somewhere in the report. Hope you can get this sorted out soon. Don't give up though - they need to pay for what they've put you through as well as the damage they have done to your property.

Stay off the wine and stay off your feet too Wol. Hey, i'm good at this nagging lark aren't i? :)
Lots of kisses and even a few dodgy hugs going your way Wol :grouphug:

Sorry to hear that you are feeling so stressed and upset but it isn't any wonder is it?
Everything feels like you've gone back 3 years but you haven't you are moving forward and this a phase you need to go through to get to the next stage....the surveyor should be able to give you the exact advice you need.
Please try and rest that ankle up for a while xxx

Well done on the weight loss, Horace! I think the reason obesity is on the rise is because the Government has been pushing low-fat, high carbohydrate diets at us for years, and it's the excess of carbs that are the problem. A few generations back people drank full fat milk, ate butter, had fried breakfasts, and were generally quite slim - they were far more active than we are nowadays, too. I suppose it's a case of eat what you like in moderation, keep active and respect your body by not stuffing it full of rubbish.
(Nargle climbs off soapbox leaving it free for the next person)

Wol - consider yourself well and truly nagged - now put that bl**dy iron down!
(Nargle dodges as whacking great steam iron comes flying through the air)

Hello GJ, I wondered where you had been

I've been inhabiting the murky world of ebay, buying, doing up and selling laptops, and the not-so-murky world of fixing other people's pc's and laptops....

....not too much profit yet, but it's Gettin' There ;) just takes valuable time that I could be spending with you luurrverly peeps on here :D

    I promise to try harder...honest :)

    Hi All

Not done any ironing yet ....but have done 6 loads of washing and have another two to do (piggie towels) before the machine is turned off (hopefully wednesday as opposed to tomorrow). All beds stripped ready to have new sheets put on tonight.
Piggies all cleaned and cages moved to make room in piggy Palace for the kitchen units. Half the kitchen is packed in boxes ready to be moved out tomorrow but there;s still a lot more to be packed tonight :(.....cloakrom, hall and dining room are clear though :)
First lot of batch cooking done ready to put in the new freezer arriving tomorrow. So far I;ve done thai chicken, beef chilli and tuna puttanesca. Now got to do liver, bacon and sausage casserole before I go to bed.

Ankle is holding up well - virutally back to normal today.

Up early tonorrow to take Ginger in for his op for 8am :( and be back in time to greet the freezer man and the builders who are all turning up by 9am. It's a 90 minuts round trip so I'm hoping I don;t get held up in the rush hour.

I'm knackered - but will press on for another hour or so until the casserole is done.

Thank you everyone for posting - hopefully after wednsday I should have some breathing space to come back on here more regularly

Horace - good news on the wieght loss. A gluten/wheatfree diet (= virtually no processed carbs) has really helped me keep my weight right down.

Wol toddles off to fry more onions :D
