Hello Wol and co, Happy Election Day. Whatever you do, get out there and vote. I suspect there will be a good turn out this year due to the public debates, pity we didn't do this years ago.

Glad to hear Ginger is convalescing, and hope the building work is going ok. Horace sounds as busy as ever, have you still got the hash farm growing in the basement? Or have the riff raff been moved on?

I have cast my two votes today (we had council elections too) and have spent the day with my phone welded to my ear - calls to make etc. I did a dumb thing and cancelled a direct debit for an endowment policy in March but I picked up a letter from ex hubby's house on Monday and now it has been reinstated by me as it pays out in 2021 - thankfully I havent been penalised.

Nargle - we still have stinky cat wee woman who lives immediately below me on the ground floor, the dope smell has disappeared because there is a huge warning letter from the landlord stuck by the front door for all to see about the serious consequences that would happen if he found out about dope smells again. Gillian and her two strapping lads (she had been here as long as me) moved out on Saturday so that's another vacant flat which is being repainted and will have to be furnished (she was an unfurnished tenant like me), and the wierd american woman who lived in flat 8 has moved out and some wierd lads have moved in who spend their evenings drilling and hammering (I can see that they are going to be trouble), they are not above me thank goodness.

Oh well, Horace, some you win, some you lose......perhaps the lads doing the drilling are nice lads who could do all your DIY stuff for you?

Hope you are well, Wol, probably up to your ears in brick dust but it's all for the long term good. Hope Sir Numpty is keeping his armour polished and being good company amongst the chaos.

    HI All

    Quickie update

This week has been sh**te.....thank heavens Sir Numpty has been here...

I wont go into details..for fear you will call me Marvin....:rotfl::rotfl:..(I'm reading hitchikers Gide atm) ....but suffice to say it is now sorted ( and I am an additional £10k out of pocket with more to come :eek:)...and quite frankly now that the bodget builders antics have finally been professionally exposed in their entirety, it feels akin to have been raped..strong words I know...but that is how it feels in light of the new revelations this week. :o

Ginger had to go back yesterday to vet..:(:(...owing to bleeding from surgery etc etc .he is not reet happy......but it appears he is holding his own :T:T

As for the rest of this week.....swingsand roundabouts...and loads more hurdles to cross....

However ...I AM feeling marginally better ( I think)...

Will deffo be back on this weekend once I get my head aroung the latest developments ;)

    xxx

Good news about Ginger, but i thought you were going to have a break from mayhem :(

Have you been able to report the builder to whatever body is supposed to supervise them? Hopefully the surveyor's report wil get the insurance company to kick into gear.

    You take care!

Take care Wol - hopefully as there has now been professional exposure of Bodgit & Scarper's work that the insurance peeps and the ombudsman will pay out.

Glad that Ginge is holding his own.

Hugs to you as it sounds awful what those previous builders have been up to..hopefully the insurance can pay you out now.
