ha ha ha, I looooove him too!!! Me and my sister are always saying that to each other in accent lol. aaaaah, good times. I feel the need to watch it NOW. However, I am in the midst of rekindling my Blackadder love affair! Except I'm not, because about 30 mins ago, my power tripped off, I think because of the washing machine, so Ive now got nothing on except for the washing machine, because I'm paranoid it will trip again (and only 8% battery left on here! better type fast....)
Well, still not got my amazon payment grr. However, today I got £1.10 on the free scratches, woo hoo, and 10p on a survey. I can cash out £2 on another survey site, and I'm expecting £3 vouchers from Pinecone. I'm leaving the survey money in there until til the end of the month though so hopefully can cash out more. Still doing rubbish with the free clicks. I seem only to get one site done, so I've been concentrating on that one, but a long way to go yet! Must do better! I'm trying to sign up for my Arise training, but still not holding out hope (i.e., I am not buying the headset and phone I need yet!). Even if I get anything from it that won't start til October now.
WARNING EXTREME GIRLINESS ABOUT TO FOLLOW - READ ON AT YOUR PERIL!!!
Have actually quite liked work the last couple of days! I haven't read any of Heidi (on MS Word lol) either day for something to do, and have done some actual work that feels vaguely worthwhile! Plus it helped that our kind-of-but-not-really head honcho boss was in yesterday who I have the biggest crush on. He covertly looked at me at one point, which obviously means he totally fancies me too. Lol, I am so delusional at times. At this point I should mention that this man is happily (at least I presume!) married with kids. Le sigh. Still, a girl can dream, can't she?!There is also some other slight man candy in my office, one of the chief supers. All in all though, I have to say, I thought there would be far more attractive specimens walking around in uniform! Unfortunately I can offer photographic evidence of neither, believe me I have looked. Object of crush number one is short, northern, dark hair and lovely eyes and smile. He must be older than he looks given his rank, but is so baby faced he could have just sat his A levels lol. Slight crush number two is short, older than number one (mid forties I would say), dark italian-like features, London accent. Although I spoke to him once whilst making coffee it didn't go well and I have not tried again! Sadly have not yet been able to pay close enough attention to his hands to see if there is the presence of a wedding band. I don't have a reason to go into his office, and he doesn't have a reason to hang around my department except when he prints something!
What does it say about me that I like short men?!!! I have never yet met another girl who likes men shorter than 5.10! ah well, more for me!:rotfl:
Back to sensibleness... I applied for a PA job this morning advertised on Reed. Don't think I'll even get an interview though. Still, we'll see. Am also applying for a job at work in a different department, which I am definitely not qualified for, but am being encouraged to apply for by others, so am going to work on that this weekend, see how I can talk myself up enough to get an interview. I do have to talk to the person I would be working for when she comes back off holiday next week regarding a project our department is doing, so hopefully that will do me some good if I make a good impression to her. The job would be very interesting, worthwhile, and the wage would allow me to pay off my debts with no problems (even big scary loan!).
Right I'm off to day dream about sexy men in uniform... :kisses2:it's either that or I go and buy chocolate!0 -
You may note the total lack of a to-do list this weekend. I have given myself the weekend completely off! I do need to do that job application, but that's it.
Yesterday I went shopping in town, except didn't because didn't buy anything except parking and coffee and a ginger muffin in Starbucks. I could have not had the latter, but I do budget for 'shopping for fun', and besides, I read the entirety of 'Thrifty Ways for Modern Days' for free whilst consuming both (careful not to get any crumbs on it!) , and the muffin was so gorgeous it was totally worth it. Ginger is one of my favourite things in the universe.
After that I braved Asda for cleaning stuff - managed to find white vinegar, cheapo basic baby wipes, stardrops, and also bought two logs for winter. Not sure where to budget this, technically its heating which I haven't added to my budget other than the Npower DD. But the plan is to buy one or two logs a week so I have stock for winter without having to buy it all in winter (it's written in my tenancy that I have to use those hideously expensive smokeless logs in wrappers in the stove, and nothing else unfortunately). The main room in my house is somewhat under-radiated, so I already know that on a very cold day/night, I will need to use the burner as well as heating. How the house got a high energy use rating I don't really know. It's well insulated, but high arched ceiling (more technically the roof) and quite draughty in bits. I think I might be spending quite a bit of time out of the house come winter!
No plans for today at all, how lazy am I!0 -
No plans here either - lazy is good!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Hi Raquela
Loving the 'no plans' weekend :j Pretty much the same here - really busy week at work so spending the weekend lazing around
I have to brave Asda today though - the cupboards are bare, then off to my Mum's laterSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
well, perhaps I should not have a to-do list next weekend either, for this weekend I have -
been grocery shopping (bit annoyed with myself actually. Spent about £25, which means I have only £20 of my months budget left and it's the 6th of the month! On the plus side I bought lunch and breakfast stuff which is good because I ended up buying lunch every day last week. I budget £15 for the month for lunch meals and £10 for drinks/snacks at work, and it would be really nice to not use this, in which case going over on groceries won't matter as much except for the whole grocery challenge thing.)
- listed 11 things on Amazon so far today. No sales yet, unlike last week!
- made minestrone soup for the freezer / lunches. Massive amount. Actually slightly concerned I don't have enough containers / bags to store it all!
- made boiled bacon with roast veggies which I am about to eat. Will be lots left over for other meals too.
- watched the entirety of Blackadder III. Rationing myself now, only IV left to go (my bro got me the boxset for my b-day!). Now watching CSI from last night.
Still no money into my account from Amazon sales etc, so officially can't say I've made any of me £5 a day yet!0 -
oops, I appear not to have admitted to my butternut squash fiasco. I ended up throwing it in the bin. After desecrating it trying to cut into the bloomin thing - tried every one of my knives! In the end I shaved a few bits off to roast in my veggies and chucked the rest in frustration. How in hell are you supposed to cut into them?!!!0

Hi Raquela,
Yep a massive knife generally does it. I use a potato peeler on the outside and then chop into it - as I don't have said massive knife.
I'm so jealous of your weekend. Mine felt like madness - was far too busy and all I actually needed was to be away from the world and do my household tasks and chill. I'm going to do some tonight though and have a pampering night to myself (sadly this involves doing my washing, cleaning my kitchen, cooking a healthy MS dinner and watching as many episodes of Private Practice before I fall asleep............)Mint £5,624 [STRIKE]£5,700[/STRIKE] Capital One £338.26 [STRIKE]£350[/STRIKE] Next £390 [STRIKE] £460[/STRIKE] Overdraft [STRIKE]£1400[/STRIKE] £900£2 Coins '09 £142 £2 Coins £4 '10DF Reward Pot £33/£153

I posted last night, but it doesn't seem to be here. Hrmph!
I think next time I'll roast the squash first. Something on the internet said I should have had it out of the fridge a while first. Maybe it was just horrendously unripe! Still the slithers I got off it to roast were tasty, and I did put some in my minestrone is as well, so not a total waste of a £1.
Right, I've just got in from work, checked my online banking, and Amazon money is finally there, so I have been able to chuck a bit more at my overdraft and so have updated signature (including grocery eekness though - one downside!). I have also requested disbursement of £27 odd from sales this month, and have just tallied up sales from weekend which come to £16. Have to take my postage from this amount, so I can't add this actual amount until I've worked out the postage (plus I'm sticking to not adding it until its in my bank account or paypal!). Once I've played Virgin Bingo tomorrow, I should have enough to extract a tenner - only £5 is profit, the other fiver is my initial stake, which I never extracted. However, all £10 will be going to the OD as I won't miss it. Also, the £40 from my birthday I never paid into my bank account, it's locked up in the house, and if I've done my sums right, I won't miss that either, although technically I said I'd paid that to my MC, as I've already forgotten about it (until now!), and there's no goodies I want to buy, I think I am going to chuck it at my overdraft as well. Plus, it doesn't take a genius to work out that I have aimed to earn £150, and the amount I want to pay off my OD this month is £100 more than this!
Got the day off work tomorrow, going to work on the job application (which I ended up working on today!), and also I *may* have a little writing gig! I am going to research it and write a couple of test pieces tomorrow if I can. They haven't asked me to, but as I've freely admitted I have no writing experience whatsoever, I feel it could be beneficial. At the moment they are interested solely on my knowledge of the area in question. It wouldn't be a lot of money, but it would be a nice little extra earner, and would finally get me some experience so with any luck I could land more writing gigs if I do well.0
