OK, I haven't done what I said I was going to do - since my last post all I've done is switch locations from bed to sofa, make chocolate porridge (yum!), and browsed the forums!

That's how my day is going - just watched Jeremy Kyle and still haven't moved :o

lol - I don't know what channel he's on anymore so haven't watched since was a student! I was reading the student board earlier - god I miss being a student, I really do! I would be one of those perpetual students if i could afford to be!

Right, I've got started on the Doo Yoo reviews; done five this morning already, but didn't realise you are only allowed to do five a day, so that's it for today. One of things I reviewed has never been reviewed by anyone else so hopefully that will get lots of ratings (Ravelry, if anyone is interested). Need to find model numbers of some of my appliances to rate as well. I want to rate the CD I'm listening to now, but sadly it's not on there! (Schuyler Fisk - it's amazing if you like girly singer-songwriter stuff. She's the daughter of Sissy Spacek, and I am astounded to find out she graduated from the University of Virginia when I was there - wish I had discovered her when I was out there!). I will have to start listening to less obscure music to review!

ugh, not feeling good at all, really wiped out. Can I have another weekend starting tomorrow please?! And I've still got to cook dinner for tonight to get meal plan on track!

I'm watching titanic on Fiver which is so going to have me bawling in about 30 mins! All I have done since last post is dye my hair (I suspect not very well I might add), had a shower, got parsnips, potatoes, carrots and chicken out of the fridge ready to prepare for roast. and filled up another charity book box. i am tempted to try listing them on green metropolis first to see if any of them sell on there. Not like they are in the way particularly! Still have another box to go through but I haven't got the energy. I just want to doze on the sofa watching telly!

Spect I better get my roast ready though, at least once it's done it's done and I don't have to do it.

just checked my email before I turned off the laptop - have sold three more items on Amazon, two of which I listed earlier today. This means I have sold 7 items since the 29th, and all the money will hit my account in September getting me well on my way to £5 a day! :D

  • Hi Raquela,

Just read through your diary and would just like to say you have given me inspiration! I earn roughly the same as you from looking at your SOA and was worried I wouldn't be able to afford to live by myself but you are managing it so I can stop worrying now and start looking forward to moving out of my parent's house :)
I'd had to move back in with them because I thought I was going to lose my job, and now my dopey boyfriend has smoked himself into debt so I thought I'd have to wait years 'til we could afford to live together again. Now I know I don't need his half of the bills my future looks brighter :j

Anyway good luck with everything, esp. finding things to do at work, I also have a very boring job, spending all day willing the phone to ring and wishing my email will beep.

aaw thanks! it is tight sometimes, but is doable, definitely. I would be better off if I lived in a shared house, but I've never had very good luck with shared houses. I am worried about what will happen come January when I have to start finding £335 to pay big loan, but I'm worrying about that then, not now. What will probably happen is I will have renegotiate my DMP, but I'm going to pay off as much off my other debts as humanly possible before then! And you never know, a miracle might happen and I might get a better job! The key is definitely making a budget and sticking to it - in my case that's now not difficult because there are no extra funds anywhere for me to dip into... I wish I had been more careful this time last year..., could slap meself!

Well, still pretty drained but pleased to inform you that the hair dye job actually looks fine, have found the right shade of blonde that I don't need to bleach first! woo. This will save me £5 every 10 weeks or so, and hopefully be better for my hair too. Oh and I've sold another book.... at the moment the books seem to be selling faster than I can list them!

That is fantastic news about the number of books that are selling!

  • I'm so jealous of your book selling! I put 20 of mine on Green Metropolis and so far only 2 have sold - with £1.85 postage each that means I have made precisely £2.10p. :-( . I'm considering bundling them together in threes or something and selling on ebay instead.
