[STRIKE]morning[/STRIKE] afternoon all! Am lazing on the couch under my duvet with the conservatory doors wide open to get the house warm - I am determined not to turn heating on til October, and preferably November!
Today is most definitely not a money saving day. I had to purchase the headset I'll need to do Arise, which set me back about £45. Tried to find a cashback link, but no such luck unfortunately. I have also bought the new mac upgrade, Snow Leopard, which was definitely a want and not a need. However, I did go through Nectar, and did use up the £3 credit I had on Amazon, so it's cost me £19.99 instead of £25! Was planning on waiting until the Apple store opens, but then I found out it's cheaper on Amazon. There also may be a yarn purchase today as I'm going to try and sort out what I am knitting for christmas presents. I have some yarn I can use though if i can find suitable things, so we'll see.
I also have an online assessment to do for a grad scheme I applied for yonks ago and had forgotten all about, which I have to do by Monday, but I'll try and get done today, or at least practice for today. I'm terrible at the maths part of these things. Uh oh.
Am also catching up on the tv I've recorded this week, so quite a lazy day by all accounts.0 -

Hi Raquela

work on a weekend! pah!!
So far today I have:
1) made cookies
2) vacuumed everywhere
3) done online assessment for grad scheme job
4) listed about 55 items on Amazon (no sales yet)
5) made enchiladas (an experiment - am yet to taste them!)
6) tackled some of the never ending pile of washing up
7) watched copious amounts of CSI, NCIS, and Charmed
8) knitted. Whilst doing 7 and 4.
I love how it sounds like I've been really productive when in actual fact I've sat on my bum all day and only showered an hour ago!0 -
Compared to my weekend you have been very productive!
My biggest task this weekend has been getting out of the car to go and order a curry. Seriously.
I've been lazing in bed 70% of the time, the rest of the time I have been driven around by my boyfriend & cooked for by my boyfriend's mum/kfc/burger king/curry house.
Oh I wandered round Ikea too, buy didn't buy anything for myself! That was difficult.
 To laziness! :beer:0 -

aaarrgh, lost another post. Damn internet connection
Well today I'm feeling filled with epic fail as internet geeks would say.
a) I've turned my heating on. Admittedly this was not only due to me being extremely freezing, but also due to my washing from yesterday being as damp as I left it yesterday morning, and I don't want it to stink
b) updated signature which shows that I am behind on the £5 a day challenge, and probably won't make it. I have actually made more than that, but after I've deducted postage and packing costs, it's not that muchThe CDs I've listed aren't listed for much, so am unlikely to make £5 a day from sales. This means I am unlikely to make the challenges I've set myself on the OD and CC (especially as i've had to put the phone for Arise on the CC. grr).
c) After doing my banking, I have £4 left of my grocery budget until the end of the month. Clearly I am going to blow this by at least £20. And this is a month where I've meal planned pretty much religiously (thus far at least). My budget is so tight that I can't really afford to up my budget for food without downing it on something else, so not sure what to do really.
Looking on the positive, I have paid another £20 to the OD. And cooking at the moment is a massive batch of mince (with soy mixed in with veg) which should be enough for four meals at least.
Right off to stuff my face, hopefully I will be back to my cheery self tomorrow...0 -

It is certainly autumnal round these parts.......but I am resisting putting the heating on (although I will be taking a hot water bottle to bed with me tonight!)
Sorry things are tight - but don't fret about the £5 a day thing - just look back a few short weeks when you were adamant you couldn't even make £1 a dayHad you not made the changes when you did, you would be in a very poor position right now, rather than things just being a bit tight!
Chin up - you are going great guns!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
