  • After receiving a very large bill yesterday (£63.32) £15.82 of which were phone calls i decided to ring them up this morning, see what they could do.

    I previously had:

    Tv = XL
    Phone = Weekends
    Broadband = M
    V+ box
    V box

    For £47.50

    Now i've got:

    Tv= XL
    Phone = talk evening/weekends
    Broadband = L
    V+ box
    v box

    = £40

    Im really pleased as i will definately see a drop in my phone bill now.

  • Hi All,

    Currently have the following package........

    Phone = £11.00 w/end calls free
    BB 10mb = £25.00
    Average calls total £10

    With VM having a minefield of deals what should I expect to get and at what price when I contact 150?

    I also pay £38 a month for Sky and need to look at cutting this cost down too!

    The following thread lists successes and failures at trying to haggle discounts with Virgin Media.
    Full Tips are in the

    This discussion has been running a long time, some of the early reports related to NTL/Telewest which later became Virgin. For the latest feedback click later on in the thread.

    Hi There,

    I successfully haggled virgin media down. I was due to go from £20 broadband,Telephone (Unlimited calls) TV bundle from june 2007. To £35 prer month. FAR TOO EXPENSIVE !:confused:

    I simply muttered..."competitive market out there..." and presto "...oh I can give you £20.49 and you get free international and mobile..." :T

    To emphasise value the agent tried to persuade me 145 tv channels XL package? No deal me thinks :eek: :p

    That includes line rental tv, broadband, unlimited calls. :T :beer:

    I have only been a month through the 12 month contract - do you think I could still ring for a better deal or they will just laugh at me!

    You could always use http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php for cheaper calls.

  • Hi Guys - been hassled by OH to do something about our virgin package for a while now - thought I'd have a quick check here before phoning them (or I will do when our landline is back up - its been out of action for 3 days now and I'm not phoning them on their 0845 from my mobile!!)

    Anyways -
    currently paying £31.00 per month for Line Rental - XL TV and M Broadband and average a further £15 in calls each month - bill normally between £40-50 per month! Too expensive me thinks

    Looking to get this down a bit - or keep it the same but get another box for kids rooms - has anyone any hints

    Thanks a lot mse'rs

    I cannot quite understand the vip package deal with regard to the v-box - is it included or is their a charge, and if there is can that be negotiated -and are there any further charges over the £85 or is that it - total bill, every month. I have joined with a small package and decided to upgrade while I still have the 28 day cancellation option in case they are uncooperative

    You get the V+ box and the standard V box included in that price.

    The only charges over the monthly fee is any chargeable calls, such as calling mobiles, calling overseas, 01/02/03 calls over 60 mins, calls to 084, 087, 070 etc numbers. Movies or events you order.
    It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
