They have offered me deal for £35.95 a month for the lot, so I am happy with this. To get it any cheaper I would have to lose talk unlimited and just get free weekend calls, I don't fancy that much as it would only save £5.95.
Yeah, seems a current price match deal. We would have gone with the XL TV and dropped down to L phone, but then different people have different circumstances, we rarely make daytime calls and any we do we use VoIP for, we used to be VoIP only for over 2.5 years, only now having a phone line again due to the retentions offer. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
just phoned 150 to discuss leaving spoke to the disconnection team.

If you phone up to cancel, you should get that for £10, this is the usual retentions price for 2Mbit broadband. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... just got off the phone from Virgin.
I phoned earlier in the day and said I was tempted to go to Tiscali as they had pffered me £16.99 per month for unlimited calls and broadband.
Virgin said they couldnt beat my current deal of £20.99 for the same (actually works out £30.00 per month becasue of 0845 numbers and the like)
Phoned later and told them I had made a post on this site recomending people to switch to them using quidco and this was featured in the weekly newsletter . I argued that as I may have led to them recieving a few more customers would they consider matching the tiscali deal.
they said no...........!!!!!!!s lol
My plan is by October to have my our family mobile, phone and internet to under £15.00 per month.Compeititon Wins: Loads of toot that has gone on ebay
Quidco since March : £540 validated (£480 recieved)
Money saved for mortgage overpayments £2000)..Actually scrub that we're building an extension.0 -
My bill has averaged £50 per month. For this I got L TV, M Broadband, Phone + voicemail and Talk Evening & Weekends. My 12 month contract since last review had expired and so I made the 150 call today.
The new deal is: L TV, Phone plus Talk Unlimited, Talk International, Talk Mobile, Voicemail and M Broadband for £22.24 (nice round figure!).
I then enquired about the V+ box. We have wanted this for a while, especially since we lost our remote for the standard V box about 3 months ago (didnt want to pay for a replacement- almost wore V box buttons out!). I had to pay £75 there and then for the installation charge - apparently discounted from £150 for me. They also threw in a modem as the V+ box doesnt contain the network card necessary for broadband. This increased by monthly charge by £5.
New monthly charge £27.24 -nearly halved.
Thanks to all you posters for the useful info that tooled me up for the call.0 -
I therefore went for the 10 meg connection, unlimited telephone and M television package for £26.49
I just called Virgin Media to enquire about what they could offer me as I was looking at the Tiscali offer. After discussing a few options with Kyle in 'Customer Services', where he explained to me that on a copper BT line I wouldn't get more that 2Mb and that VM was a guaranteed speed, I mentioned the above deal and he told me it was absolutely not possible. I said that if I could get Karne to send me a copy of the bill when it comes in would he match the price. Of course he declined. I said if it is guaranteed not possible then he would have nothing to lose. He still declined.
It seems to be from the previous posts on here that it is pot luck who you get through to. If you are lucky you get someone flexible who is prepared to deal otherwise you get someone like Kyle.0 -
Slightly O/T but does anyone know how to cancel a virgin contract part way through. I am on 2MB until Feb next year but teh service is appalling - Virgin in my opinion are totally sh1te - and that is putting it mildly.1

Hi all I only have Virgin cable which I pay a shocking £51. I have my phone line with BT and pay £17.99 per month for AOL.
I've been considering putting it all in one place does anyone have a clue what sort of deal I should be aiming for?
