1 year ago I re-negotiated a deal for £35:
L phone incl talk evening and weekends
XL TV
L broadband
Wondered if this is still a good deal or whether it's worth going for the jugular!!!0 -
From posts i have read on another forum now their new billing system has come into place deals will be much harder to grab. I know I certainly won't get my deal again come December.
Telephone Line rental 11.00
TV XL 20.50
V+ Box 10.00
V box 15.00
BB XL 37.00
phone, tv &bb bundle saving -10.50
3 for 30 bundle saving -9.00
add set box discount -10.00
BB XL upgrade bonus - 12.00
BB L for price of BB L bonus -12.00
Total 40.00 per month
I know the BB discount is on there twice but this is the only way they could match what sky were offering us at the time.
From what I have read the new system does not let them add discounts like this any more, so come December I may have to change or downgrade. I want to change the phone to unlimited calls but it may change everything else so I will hold off for now.0 -
This week we negotiated with Virgin and got
XL TV
24/7 free calls
M Broadband
Setanta
Total £37 which we thought was good as our last bill was £102 for everything incl calls.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -
Hi there all.. i been reading about all these deals people been getting, and as a long time customer i rang to see what deal they could offer.
We had:
M Phone + Caller ID
L BB
XL TV
All for £57
We got:
L BB
XL Phone + All Extras
XL TV
All for £42.95. We also opted to go for having V+ installed at a reduced price of £30. And keep the second box in another room for £5 a month. All in all we are quite happy! :j0 -
Hi all Just rang Virgin we have broadband L they have been chargeing me £25.00 per month said advertised price was £24 hadn't had more than 3.5Mbps for last 3 months and could get that speed for £17.00 per month else were so am leaving.
They offered £18.00 per month for 6 months to be renegotiated with same package L
Happy with that so took it probably could have held out for a bit more but still learning to haggle properly.

This is what i used to pay:
Advance charges £37.50
Line Rental = £11.00
Phone, TV & BB Bundle Saving = £-9.50
Talk Weekends = £0.00
TV Size: X L = £22.00
1 Additional V Box = £15.00
V+ Box = £15.00
TV Size: XL & ADD V Box Discount = £-15.00
ADD V Box Upgrade = £-10.00
Broadband Size: M = £18.00
Assoc Unlimited Tes = £-9.00
Hmmm im wondering if i should ring them and haggle.
We got a letter in the post yesterday saying they have been making improvements to the way they handle bills and noticed we haven't been charged for our tv service.
Very strange i thought as on my bill it clearly has a charge for the TV.So i rang them and they confirmed a £10 discount has now been removed so from now on i will pay £47.50.
What do people think, should i ring them and haggle???? Basically from what i can tell, i have been charged for my tv service, its just i've only been paying £5 for having 2 boxes in my house (V+ and normal box).Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
We pay 34.95 a month.
the break down is -
Telephone Line Rental £11.00
Talk Unlimited £7.95
Loyalty Pack B B / Phone / T V C £-23.00
T V Size: X L £22.00
Broadband Size: M £18.00
-£1.00 for online billing.
Does this seem like a good deal or should I haggle with them? Essentially all we really need is broadband, when we moved house we got a loyalty deal and they gave us the talk any time and upgraded our tv package so we wound up paying the same but for more things.

If you have a Virgin land line and Broadband then dial 150 immediately and get your monthly charges slashed. I have talk anytime and broadband M and I have just had my monthly charges slashed from over £33 pm to £19.48 pm. They reduced their prices but havn't got around to telling their customers yet.0

They are always changing prices and existing customers always pay the higher prices.
However for years if you call up you'll likely to get a better price and if you go through to retentions (cancellations) you'll get the better deals.
You'll find many a thread on here about it.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

Can't really see you getting it down much more as that matches more or less current Sky price matching retentions deals.
You can get the 2Mbit broadband from them for just £10 per month and not bother with phone line or TV, though note if you are relying on a mobile for calls then it does mean that for people to call you on a mobile is dearer than the landline and it does work out dearer owning a contract mobile and using that instead of the landline - however many people fool themselves into thinking it's cost effective. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
