Is this to much ??????
When you think for £85 you can get VIP: http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=11029
I'd say for what you get almost £80 is high.
Though I think anything more than around £30 is high and then again I don't like paying £30 per month, I'd rather go without. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
I just redone my deal
XL Telephone

L Broadband
Extra set top box

Telephone line rental = £11.00
Starter TV Package = £5.50
Broadband Size: L = £25.00
Total = £41.50
I called VM and politely asked them if they could do me a better a deal as friend has the same service from them for under £25, the guy on the phone was adamant that 'my friend' would not have the same service from them for that price and basically refused to budge in terms of offering a better deal and even suggested if I'd like to leave them if not happy!!!!! I said I'd go away and think about it, have VM changed their retention policy?
I'm quite annoyed to say the least after reading all the success stories on here. :mad:0 -
Was it definitely the Retentions dept. you called? If it was C/S they can only go so far with what they can offer you.0

Hi, I'm a long time lurker, but haven't posted before.
Tried this today, was paying £21 per month for basic M TV, basic phone with no extras and 2MB broadband.
Called up, said I was going to TalkTalk for the faster BB and better phone package, was offered a couple of small extras, then the guy went on hold for a while, came back and offered an upgrade to 10MB BB, wireless router, Talk Mobile, Talk Unlimited and Talk International for £27.49 per month.
Tried hassling the customer services guy for a lower price and stated that the TalkTalk price was still £10 lower, but he didn't budge from that offer, so I took it, especially as I really wanted the BB upgrade and the phone extras should knock a few quid off of my calling costs.
I was just wondering, once you're tied down to another 12 month contract (which I don't mind as it'd be too expensive for me to switch to anybody else and I can't get freeview!) is it possible to be cheeky and try to haggle them for more (my GF is bugging me for the L TV package), or will they not be interested because they know you'll be with them, at least for the time being?0 -
The husband just called VM to see about getting the price down. We are currently on:
2 x line rental £22
talk international £1.50
TV XL £22
Broadband M £18
phone, tv & BB saving saving - £9.50
Total £54
When he phoned they offered to bump up the BB to 10mb and add unlimited calls for £53 or something. This still seems quite a bit high. He told them to cancel it and now we've got until the 10th of Aug until it all gets cut off. Is it worth him calling back next week or waiting on them calling him? and if so how much should he look to get it reduced by?
Many thanks in advance...0 -
I have been with NTL /Virgin for over 2 yrs, the last deal I was on was for tele line rental,Broadband M and evening and weekend calls free for £28.95.I called their retentions department and the girl on the other end offered the same for 19 quid. I thought it was a good deal and accepted, but a further scrutiny of the forum revealed that some one had the same deal with daytime calls free as well for £20.49
Called them back and told them the same, as it was being a new contract, I legally had 7 days cooling period and iIasked them about this. Immediately I was offered the same deal for £20.49.So a much better deal for muc lesser price.I may still haggle for less but I do not think I may succeed, no harm in trying though!0 -
We currently pay £30 for XL TV, 2MB Broadband and Phone. We pay £18 extra for Sky Sports.
Seems reasonable to me?????0
