Can any one give me a little advice. My partner has been with virgin for 7 years and paying £26.50 for just BB, typical bloke, just cared about his gaming and downloading speed and will pay what ever. When i found out i was shocked and told him we could get all 3 services for a similar price, i rang virgin to see what they could offer me, which was
    M+ TV
    L BB
    M phone
    V+
and HD box all for one off fee of £49 and monthly fee of £31.?? free instillation for being a long time customer and i was told the cheapest as we had been paying so much for just one service. I just agreed.
Anyhooo its all been set up and i found that the tv was just standard freeview channels. ive since rang up tonight enquiring to be told i only have M TV and would need to pay a futher £5 for M+. i no its only 5 quid but thought it was unfair since id specifically asked for a price on the package i wanted. long story short it all got heated, transfered to different departments and finally told i should just cancel, i was stunded when he said this but agreed that i would. when i did so he then told me i couldnt because there was no one available to cancel my contract and to ring again tomorrow. Bearing in mind this call already cost me £10.50. (two months of M+ tv paid for!) The other thing i was also peeved about was that he told me if i was to tell the women last week i want M+ tv then they could of offered it all me for £26.50 for 6 months, my arguement was that i did ask for that specifically as i asked which package had sky one on. He was unable to then give me that offer so id lost out.
Just all very odd if you ask me.
So the advice i want is, is there anyway i can go about getting the package for the 26.50? maybe cancel then rejoing in my name? or is there some one better to talk to. As i really dont want to cancel, best BB for Gaming and We need HD channels for a better picture on the projector.
    THANKS

I followed the suggestions of others and gave my 30 day notice of cancellation for my virgin media package which was as follows

    TV M+
    phone M
    bband L
    V+ HD

this was the basic package which i picked up following the great simplify digital deal last feb (£165 cashback)

The new contract cost was going to be £36.49 per mth and while I am very happy with the service and box etc I felt this was a little high.

After 2 days I got a call from the retentions department (they called to ask me some feedback questions, but I guessed they would try and get me to resign)

The immediately offered me £30.49 to keep the same package after I mentioned I was considering going to Sky as it was cheaper.

I said truthfully that I was on a very tight budget and could they do it for less than £30. After the sales guy spoke to his someone they offered me £29.49 for 12 mths which I took.

I am happy with this deal as I use only the basic services and this price is about the same if I was to apply as a new customer (without cashback site)

Hey guys, I got a call from the cancellation team today and they gave me a deal and I was unsure so they said they'd ring back on Monday. I asked them to send the deal in email but apparently they are not allowed to that that from the new year :S
    Here's what they offered me:
    XL TV + Asian bundle (£10) + 2x V+HD boxes
XL landline with free 0845 and 0870 calls
XL Broadband with free "super hub"
All for £60 a month for 12 months.
First of all, is this a good deal and secondly do you think I'd be able to get any "extra's" thrown in for the same price?
I don't know what happened to the 18 month contracts though, she only offered me a 12 month contract!
Thanks for the help in advance!

Sorry, are you saying I made it up? Oh and the email I got came from the work experience trainees supervisor. If you read through this thread and the other virgin media threads you will see I am not the only one to have got a deal of this nature.

I haven't seen any others matching your deal here- bit of long trawl -yours seemed to stand out
I actually told VM of your deal and even at 18 months all i could get was £44pm - and with no V+ boxes or credit
I made several attempts but they would not budge -it was a case of "£37?- dream on dude" - hence i questioned the deal you posted
Not having a dig at you mate btw (even though you responded politely) - just to clarify:)

I would like some advice on my virgin media deal I have tv m bb m and phone xl with mobile calling add on all comes to £41.94 less loyalty bonus of £18.43 so I pay a total of £23.48p per month. Seems good to me but service can be erratic and customer service is variable. I just wonder if I could chase an upgrade out of them?
    Thanks Giffer

My present package (L) 10mb BB
    (XL) phone talk unlimited
I've been paying £36 now for a long time and finally thought enough is enough, I've been with Virgin (NTL) for around 20 years although their system only say's 6 years, anyway gone through to cancel the contract and offered a better deal but nothing as good as on here so my BB is terminated on the 10th Feb and as I want to keep my number the next provider has to apply to Virgin to take that over, So anyway got a call this morning for the feedback and was offered the package I'm on for £20 but knowing that some have got (XL) 20mg BB, (XL)phone with 0845, 0870 number inc, for £15 I said that's what I would like but she could only do it for £32 which is twice as much so left it there,:( So am I likely to be further contacted from Virgin or is that it ?
