Thanks for the reply GT. I decided to give them a quick call (35mins!) rather than do emails, they said they could'nt guarantee if i cancelled that they would be able to put me on the deal advertised on the site. After some discussion they agreed to give £30 credit which means i get the Skt Movies package i just added for free for a month and a half.

At the moment i'm very happy with the service i'm getting, trust me anyone that has any experience of the hell that is Talk Talk customer service and/or faults line will know where i'm coming from, so £30 for half an hours work is'nt a bad result
    Good for you, well done!

Hi, (sorry new to this & not sure how to post this question) Does anyone know if you cancel a VM account can you then apply as a new customer thru quidco???
    All help gratefully awaited:beer:

If you cancel, you have to wait a certain amount of time before you can sign up again. It was 12 months when I worked for them.
It's basically to stop people doing what you are thinking of doing.

Is that based on the household or just the individual?

If I was to cancel, would my partner then be able to sign up as a new customer? (Its currently in my name)

I would have thought by now you were haggling those costs down.
My previous posts outlined what you could get and where to get them.
I hope you keep posting your deals.
PM me if you need any assistance
  • Just had a call from Virgin Media Retentions and they were able to offer me the following deal:

XL TV for 2 V+ Boxes
    XL Broadband (20mb)
    M Telephone (Including 0845/0870 numbers)
    New Home Hub

    £40.99 a month

Needless to say I jumped at the deal, thats a saving of well over £20 a month. smile.png

    Hi
But no inclusive landline calls though.I know they add in 7.95 on your bill but then they deduct it through a goodwill payment.

I didnt bother asking about inclusive landline calls. We both get so many free minutes with our mobiles, we always use them for landlines. It was the 0870/0845 numbers that were pushing our bills up, so was pleased to get that thrown in for free.

    Hi Chopps
Welcome to MSE.You mention the first 12 months. Are you a new customer then?Consider using a cashback website like Topcashback then to join VM.Clear your cookies first though. The new customer offers are a lot better than what you have been quoted though.

I have been with them for many years so it's a saving of about £10 on what I am paying now (£34 incl.line rental) with the V+ box an extra freebie. After 12 months the half price line rental offer expires resulting in a £6 increase for the final 6 months of the 18 month phone contract.
