Would you not be better off using a supplier like 18185 for your intl calls , ngn calls, and possibly other non inclusive calls via their 0808 freephone number.

I use https://www.niftylist.com which gives cheap access codes but problem is i do a lot of calls to the middle east particularly UAE which costs 10p++/min. I like the idea of having a fixed number of mins and using a virgin media line to call international which for the last 3 weeks has been brilliant! Also using these access numbers is kind of hit and miss, sometimes it connects sometimes it disconnects and Virgin charge a connection fee and charge 1 min of the call. For me the vast majority of the chargeable calls only are for one min due to these access #. I think its best using this anytime package to give you an example my call charges couple months back was £46 and I only used just over 500mins, at least 50mins were calls which never connected. I sometimes use 1899, which is similar to 18185 on my mobile when I really need to make international calls.

Everyone in our household have mobiles with lots of minutes including unlimited landline mins. Our landline is only used for 08 and international calls now.

    What do you think??

They have all three for £14, but its only £10 mb broadband. I just read on another thread here that someone only pays !10 for their broadband!. I think it all depends on if virgin media like you or not, i think they are muppets to be honest :D Phone them again :T
I've been paying £10 for just the M broadband for the last 2 years renewed by negotiation every 6 months. When renewing in Jan 2009 I had to opt for paperless billing to retain that price. When my last deal ran out a week ago following the upgrade to 10MB about 4 weeks ago the best deal I could negotiate was £17 if I wanted to keep the 10MB speed but they offered a continuation of my £10 rate if I agreed to the speed reverting back to 2MB. So it seems that they are using the "free" speed upgrade to increase revenue. I can't say I was surprised.

Not looking forward to next month when I have to renegotiate my deal with Virgin.
It took them 3 months to get the current deal right!!

I've currently got XL tv, M Broadband, XL phone and multi room with a V+ and standard box.

The agreed price was £36.50 a month, but this went up to £41.50 with the price increases in June.

I've looked online as a new cistomer and the same deal would cost me £58, so doubtful they will give me anything decent.

Had an offer from Sky for more channels - especially HD!, faster broadband and a Sky HD and Sky + box for £48 a month, with phone rental free for 12 months taking the charge to £38 a month - no brainer really!
Reconnecting the phone line will cost £25 and there is a £30 installation charge, but going through cashback sites makes me £5 in profit, before the monthly savings are taken into account.

Can you use cashback more than once? ie cancel then take it back up with them online
  • I have a Virgin Media home phone, it came as part of the BB package.

Does anyone know IF it is possible to 'Add on Overide Provider' to get cheap Weekday Evening Calls WITHOUT Virgin Media adding a charge that would make the 'Overide' pointless? If so, who do you suggest using as the 'Overide Provider'.

Thank you in advance of 'to be supplied' information.

Open an account with http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php and use it via their 0808 Freephone Number (Free to call from your VM landline) and pay 18185 just 5p connection and 1p for peak/evening calls to 01/02/03 numbers.

Calls to other numbers are also cheaper.;) Eg 0845/0870.
