I am currently on ;

XL Phone
M Tv
L Broadband

All for £32.25 a month.

Rung retentions and said I was going to go to 02 broadband and have a BT line and anytime calls for £23.54 a month. I asked for a better price or a upgraded service on the TV. Would not offer me anything decent. I was offered XL at a total price of £44.00, In my opinion not really worth it. I have been a loyal customer for 2 years and have always paid my bill on time. Might just join 02. Not to bothered about internet speed.

UPDATE

Rung Virgin Media today to say I was going to SKY.

They offered me the following;

XL TV with V+ HD Box (£149) I got the box for free and also free installation.
XXL Phone with Cheaper mobile and International calls
10MB Broadband

All for £39 a month :j
• I spoke to VirginMedia several times over the last few weeks and have got the following package for £30.25 per month :

L Phone (free eveing and w/end calls)
L BB
M TV (tend to watch mainly BBC, ITV programmes)
Free V+ Box and installation

They have put me on the Triple X package as I have been with them for a few years.

I started the ball rolling by saying that I was being offered a better deal with SKY and unless they could beat or match it, I would go elsewhere. At first customer services retention people said they couldn't beat it. So I sent an em to Richard Branson richard.branson@fly.virgin.com and CC'd mailto:webteam@virginmedia.co.uk.

Next day, I got a call from some senior customer service person, who offered me the above deal. I am also not on a contract. My only advise is not to give up and not to be rude to them.

By the way, Virgin are alos offering free upgrade XL TV and ESPN sport for this month, which I have grabbed.

I've been on a deal which is £16.95 (approx) for ages:

TV: M
Phone: XL

I wanted to add BB: L and they offered it to me for £32.95. Considering I have been with them for over 10 years I thought it was a pi$$ take! What annoyed me more is that I have recommended others to go with VM and they have the above for cheaper than £32.95 with BB: L

Threatening to leave makes no odds any more and nor will the fact that you been with them since NTL days.. :mad:

What package are you on ? They have put me on a 'Triple Loyalty Pack' as I have been with them for so long; although you have been with them for even longer. This means that my bill is dicounted by £8-00 per month.

Suggest you see how much SKY would charge you for the above (I bet that it is a lot cheaper) and go back to customer services to see if they can beat it; otherise threten that you will be going to SKY. Probably also query whether you are on 'Triple Loyalty Pack' as you have been with them for so long. At the moment, Virgin don't want to lose people to SKY. Hope this helps.
