Well I am going to have to go to sleep. Didn't sleep very well last night with the usual Sunday night dread for going back to work, also was a bit cold when I got up to pee as OH had the window open. Need a good night's sleep tonight as we have friends over for dinner tomorrow so may be a late night.

    Night all xx

Just popped back on to ask before I forgot again - can you still get a bikini wax while pregnant? I normally shave as I don't like the in between bit with waxing waiting til it's long enough to wax again, but thought it would be nice for my honeymoon as it would be easier.

I think I saw somewhere that you shouldn't, did I just remember it wrong or is it not advised??

As far as I am aware you can BUT you supposed to be a lot more sensitive when pregnant so you might find it hurts a lot!

I once went to have my underarms and bikini done (pre pregnancy) and my arm pits bled loads and I wouldn't let her anywhere near my bits!
Have had legs and eyebrows done in the past with no problem!

No Im not watching enders, hubbie is on the xbox (to make a change!!). Ive got a real down ache at the mo and feel a bit sick, dont think i shouldve eaten so many bourbons :( Moan over. BTW, can you all tell which way round your baby is lying or say where the head is? At 27 weeks I have no idea!!

BooBoo, I think my noogle is sideways as I only seem to get kicked on the right side but not really sure. My sister just had her baby manually moved from breach position (at 38 weeks) but before she had the scan to confirm it was breach two midwives though the baby was the right way and it was only one midwife who was unsure that ordered the scan so if even the midwives can't tell it must be hard to work out!

Sticky bean dust for you Tigster - hope you have a nice relaxing stay in hospital.

Arrghh  just lost my post *stamps feet*

MBM - congratulations to you and your family!!

Tigs - Lots of "stay in there" vibes for your lo and best wishes for you.

Glam - http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Maternity-TENS_21164/ I used this machine (well the one they made 7 years ago) for labour with ds1 and dd2 and found it to be effective (much more than the one that I hired for dd1 81/2 years ago) I have bought another one this time round (it looks exactly the same unit)

Just a few points (for if you choose to use a tens machine)

Make sure that you are familiar with the machine and it's functions i.e there is normally a background mode (for when when you are resting between contractions) and then a pulse mose (for when you are having a contraction) you need to be able to flick between the two modes easily.

You need to start using it in early labour so that it can build up the signals that block the pain.

I know that this machine had a pretty good range of types of pulse (so you can choose which works for you/feels comfortable.

Re gas and air - great stuff!!! although it took me a long time to forgive DH for not noticing that I had dropped the mouthpiece when ds1 was born :rotfl: I had lost my voice and he wasn't making eye contact with me!

I had the diamorphine injection with dd1 (which had worn off by the time I needed it!) tbh I didn't like it - and even though labour with ds1 was more uncomfortable (he was back to back) I refused it (dd1 pretty much slept for 24hrs after she was born - which I think is linked to the injection?!)

This will sound really daft but visualising being somewhere relaxing/nice or just that every contraction takes you one step closer to meeting bubs helps too.

Just my tuppence :o any questions - please ask (I am trying to remember what I posted the 1st time!)

My front 2 lower teeth are wobbly  Have an appt to go back in 4 weeks dentist can't do anything before then.

DD1's cough is now a chest infection (she was clear 10 days ago) but tbh after 3 weeks of her having it I am glad that she might stand a chance of getting rid of it before she goes back to school next week (she now has some yuccky medicine) Just feel for her 3 weeks of the holidays spent feeling unwell...

There is nothing I can do to get rid of my cough and today I managed to pull a muscle coughing so am feeling a bit down as well as quite sore everytime I breath *lol* The irony was I felt like we were getting somewhere with all the work we did at the weekend - now I can't keep up the momentum this week and I am annoyed! Mum wants me to have bed rest fri-sun - I want to do fun stuff with the kids before they go back to school :(

Anyway better go try and get more sleep x

I had my legs waxed at 30/31 weeks (standing up!) my skin was a lot blotchier (sp) than normal and I had a few bruises (which I don't normally get) but we were going on holiday and I couldn't reach my legs to shave them! Glam I had my underarms done once too (in prep for wedding day) and the same thing happened I think it is something to do with the hairs being stronger (harder to pull out because of shaving?) binkini and legs were done first so I don't think it was the skill of the person in charge of the wax!

SJ - maybe ask your MW if you aren't sure?

    Morning ladies and bumps.

Thanks for the advice re waxing. I think I'm going to give it a go, it will be so much more convenient for my honeymoon. I used to get it done all the time and didn't find it too painful, so hopefully won't be too much worse. I'll make sure I do it a week before though so if there's any bruising or redness it's gone before the wedding lol!
