WM - Oh wow, you got your date already! I get mine tomorrow, will be the week before you but will be great to have a date to work towards!
Remind me why u r having a section? (Need a nosey smilie)

Had emergency section with DS. Very scary, bang on big red button on wall, doctors and midwives running in. You don't know whats going on. Lots of crying from me and OH. Poor OH left by himself in bits while i was being prepped. So have chickened out and requested the elective this time, petrified of the whole thing happening again. Everyone i have spoken to who has had an elective says its so much different, more relaxed and the recovery is easier.

Registrar was very impressed with my existing scar, it is really thin and barely noticeble. Have requested they use they follow the same line for this one. Hope five years down the line it looks just as good.

Can i ask what size Pj's / joggers you bought. I'm usually a size 8 at most. Am currently wearing matalan 12-14 Pjs. But not sure what size i should buy for after birth. (You would never think already had a baby would you?) Is it wishful thinking to get a 10 in Pj's and joggers for after, or am i pushing it?

This is exactly what happened to me too, after I had breast surgery (enlargement) my whole arm swelled up with big red hives, the anethenitist (sp!) had to come back from his lunch then he put liquid piriton thro the IV to calm it down. Apparently its quite common if its through the IV.

I have to have an IV in for emergency use during labour because of previous eclamptic sezuires but it'll be all over my birth plan that no pain killers are to go through it!!

OMGg - I had a breast reduction and that's exactly what happened to me!

OH said he'd rather I didn't have the diamorphine or an epidural as it can affect the baby whereas the Meptid didn't seem to have any side effects but they won't use it unless you are allergic to diamorphine.
I'm hoping to get along with just gas and air but I'm a wimp so that's wishful thinking!!!

WM - thanks for that, a few of the girls that have had electives on here seem to have gone through a much more relaxed birth the second time around.

Joggers - I've ordered my normal size 8 as I'm still wearing them now! :p
They rest just under my bump so figured they would be OK - my ASDA order should be in on Thursday. Lots of joggers and t-shirts for around the house and trips to the shops.

Will need them to come higher up due to section cut. Will go fo a 10 and buy a couple of night shirts too. Am so not a nighty person, much prefer my PJs.

Congrats fairydawn, wow 10 days thats a long time in hospital. Hope it wasn't too traumatic and just a precautionary long stay.
