My DH liked the boys name William, but our surname is Jobling and in Scotland this would be shortened to Jobbie (we don't live in Scotland, but might in the future and I am Scottish and therefore these things spring to mind!) and if you don't know what that means I am sure you can have a good guess, so I envisaged the poor wee thing being called Willy Jobbie and that is practically child abuse!
Luckily we should be having a girl so won't be a problem however it is a must to think of possible rhyming words for any name, reduce the likelihood of teasing at school.0 -
Right I am off to do something constructive, seeing as I am at work and they are paying me...ttfn ladies!0

pps - Also bought Evening Primrose Oil but it says on the pack to take 6 per day for the first 12 wks to build up the chain in your body. Wasn't sure if this would also apply if you are preggers
don't want to start anything off too early.
I took calcium with vit D, I checked at the time and vit D is one that your body just gets rid of if there is too much so it's ok
If glam or weezl comes on the parent club later I'll ask them0 -

Haha - that would explain it then! When I think about it I'm pretty sure I knew this so not a clue why I thought it might be ok! What a wally.
Beenie - if it makes you feel any better I've done absolutely bog all today too!
Got a chest of drawers for nursery yesterday and was supposed to be filling it with all the tiny clothes I've washed and ironed...but instead I'm eating Jelly Beans and on here and facebook doing nothing. Oh well it's nearly time for the school run so don't think my motivation will pick up any time today now.0 -
Jam & ML....good luck, big big big labour vibes to you both!!!!!!!!
I am soooo pleased a lot of you seem to be having name trauma too - only need to think of boys names doesn't make it any easier either!
DP & I aren't married (yet!) but our surnames are very similar (and unusual) so first decision was what surname our little boy was to have! Having done that, rules out any names beginning in C (or K because it's too like C) or any names ending in or could be shortened to ending in "ee" (like Oliver getting shortened to Ollie) or any names with an "or" sound in them as they all sound ridiculous with the surname. The only dead cert is the middle name, James, as that's been a name in my family for generations. OH is set on Thomas but apart from it being in the top 10 since ever, I am not convinced. And he has ruled out anything remotely biblical like Isaac. Got a book out the library yesterday and he's now ruled out anything obviously Irish or Scottish or Welsh because the baby won't be any of these!!!!! Oh well, good job we have 11 and a bit weeks left!
Aless - can't your husband claim parking on expenses if he has to have the car for work?
Muso - highly recommend bump bands, I still wear a couple of pairs of my prepreg trousers with them at 28+weeks, apart from anything else, it's nice to know pretty much all my 14lbs of weight gain so far is bump and boobs (which grew from 36C a 36DD by week 8 but have stayed the same since, phew!)
Gill - hope your appointment goes OK! My first one was just weight and BP and not a lot else (apart from the promise of getting a letter to midwife for booking in that I ended up chasing for 3 weeks!
Beenie - you aren't the only one who sees themselves as a money div, I've had a load of stuff in storage at big yellow since April and thought I'd prepaid for 6 months but, no, was 24 weeks and the next 4 weeks payment is due 3 days before pay day so now I've got to move money back out my maternity fund
27 days and the rest of today in the officeand my boss is on hols til a week on Weds so 6 of those days should be relatively easy ones too

I think EPO not advised before 32 weeks if that helps?

Cheers Sami, am 35 wks (ooh that's the first time I've said that and it's ) so should be ok then I guess. Will have a look out for the ones with Vit D but will also check the back as some of them do have other things thrown in.
As I think I mentioned before my teeth suffered after having DD so would like to take it to help prevent further weakness to them (as well as for the pain relief). My hair thinned badly and took around 3yrs to sort itself out and was hoping it would help for that too. Will have too look into that some more though as may be barking up the wrong tree again lol.0 -
Ok, here is my list of names: Erin, Megan, Maya, Natalie, Jasmine, Isabelle, Amber, Hannah, Heather, Millie, Ellie, Holly, Arwen, Amelie, Sally and Tamsin. My OH has another list and none of them match and I'm still on the look out for something else! I have no idea how I'm going to be able to decide
. We did have Tilly for a while but then I heard that most get called 'Silly Tilly' or 'Tilly willy' so that put me off.
I'm a bit biased towards Megan(and never had a really horrible nickname with it!).

Ha ha. She has always been really nice, but this was definitely the most helpful she has been - in regards to actually listening to me, giving advice and doing the sweep. Couldn't believe how excited she was!
It will probably come to nothing now, but if my cervix is thinning etc and things were already starting then I think that's when a sweep should be most successful. Fingers crossed, but don't want to get my hopes up too much.
Right off to local Tesco to buy some stuff to make Twinks hobnobs. Might as well keep busy!0 -
do MWs tend to offer sweeps as soon as you're past your EDD?MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!
