I can vouch for Twinks hobnobs too! They are scrumtious.

Harley - glad you had a nice day and your parents are looking after you. Take it whilst you can. When the baby is here, they won't bother with you ha ha.

Kindof - where did you end up getting your mat clothes?

Have made a spicy sausage & butterbean casserole for dinner so going to enjoy that whilst watching X Factor (we were meant to have it last night but ended up with a curry!).
  • Congratulations Princess- Lily is so gorgeous!!!!

I felt I had to comment on Twinks Hobnob recipe. They are gorgeous and very moreish, but they do contain oats so good for upping milk production for anyone breast feeding!

Last Saturday at work went relatively painlessly. Only four working days left now :j.

My feet must be more swollen than I realised as I put on a pair of sandals this afternoon and they were so uncomfortable. Also, I have stretch marks!!! I am gutted as I thought my regime of nightly bio-oil was keeping them at bay, but no, I have succombed . Hopefully if I keep up the bio-oil they will fade at some point.

Been thinking about SJ and her wedding today. Hope thew weather was as good as it's been here.

Also just got on to looking at Arnica tablets whilst I was on their website and there are 2 types, 6c and 30c  Any ideas what we should be getting? (see what I mean about getting easily distracted!!)

There are 3 strengths 6c, 30c and 200c (with 200c being the most potent/strongest). They actually recommend the 200c for labour or surgery but I figured as you can take the 30c for bumps and bruises then I'd get that and just take more tablets IYSWIM.

Jillie - as I went spontaneously, I just took the arnica as soon as my waters went, again when I went into hospital and then straight after the birth. I even had a RLT whilst I was hooked up to the monitor!

Thanks for finidng my post Boo

Calcium - is supposed to help build up some immunity to pain relief
I swear this did actually work
EPO - is supposed to contain Prostglandins which they use to induce labour anyway and is what is found in sperm.

Water went 3 days after upping dose of EPO to 2 at night so 2000mg
The Arnica is just to help prepare your body for the shock and then help with bruising (externally and internally) and recovery.

Have recovered 'amazingly quickly' (MW's words ) - my grazes are a little sore but not too bad.

I'm under the illusion that these things probably won't work but as they are herbal it won't hurt to try!

    Something must have worked!!!

feeling again like someone is tryng to tunnel their way out lol!!

strange to think that in a few weeks i;ll be 'empty' and they'll be beside me

It is a very strange feeling! My tummy has felt weird the last day or two - almost like my squashed organs are settling back into their original places :rotfl:

Congrats to Princess and Jacksons Mum :T

SJ hope your wedding went well and you had a very lovely day x

I took Arnica every two hrs after the birth (or as often as i remembered) and only did with dd3 as didnt know before and my 'lady bits' were a lot more comfortable and not as tender for long after her birth. (might have just been because i only had one stitch this time but i do think the arnica helped...)

hope your all having a nice night

Sorry I missed the q about Twink hobnobs! :) Glad you found them anyway...they're something I've been meaning to make for like a year now but never got around to. Anyway, can report back they are absolutely gorgeous - 10x better than the real thing. Crunchy on the outside but lovely soft/chewy in the middle - my perfect cookie! Also the 1st cookies to turn out decent in this oven, I swear :p. Highly recommended for a foolproof cookie recipe - and you can pretend they are vaguely healthy with the oats! ;)

I'm totally jealous of you ladies who have none/few stretch marks. My tummy's like a road map and I'm only 25 weeks :(. I love being pregnant, but have to admit they are a bit depressing - just keep imagining horrible loose skin tummy pouch after baby is born...

We've decided to go the local boot sale tomorrow morning! :T I'm so dorkily excited...I've never actually been to a car boot sale before - we don't have them in the US!

    Congratulations Princess!

Labour vibes to ML and any of you lurkers who need them.

Hope the wedding was good SJ - hope you didn't get sunburnt like me today but that you got to enjoy the sunshine on your special day.

Hope your headache gets better soon Somnium.

I had a lovely day watching a friend compete in a dragon boat race but spent a bit too much time in the sun and exhausted now. Is anyone else planning music for the birth and if so what type?

  • Hello whoever's still here! Many congrats on the new arrivals! :j Labour vibes to those in waiting! :D

Went for visit to new birth centre at local hospital today - same ward as before, just shiny & new - only for low-risk births, everyone else has to go to next town over now! Really nice, though, & am expecting to go there for real in a few weeks. We're car-less atm so had to go by bus - thought DH would kick up a fuss or refuse to go, but bless him, he came without a murmur & even said how short a journey it was, he thought it would take ages.
Cars - old one gone now under scrappage scheme & new one not coming until end of Sept, possibly 1st week Oct - better be here before bean arrives! Will have to get taxi if not - won't THAT be fun! :D Getting a Hyundai i10, seems similar size to ancient Polo we had. Took my pram to try out in boot of new car & can just get it in, but not shopping as well, that will have to go on back seat! :rotfl:
Condenser dryers - we have one (White Knight) & it's good, doesn't steam up garage, 2nd one same make we've had, would have the same again.
Will try to keep up, only 5 weeks or so to go, think I'm 21st on the list - where's the time gone?! Think I'd better do a bit of Christmas organising in the next week or two as well, just in case of surprises!

Sorry for a long post - must pop in more often then I won't bore the pants of folks!
Teenage DS just in from work, so off to make a milkshake & go to bed, night night & hope all your bumps behave for you! ;)
    A xo
