  • Boo thats what I thought too, Manchester to London on the train then all day at a wedding and OH would just be worrying about me but not enjoying himself so I thought he'd like a drunken weekend with all his old uni friends more. And yep, our date's are only 3 days apart. It seems to be speeding up now, I cant believe its single figures until my due date!!

I went to the trafford centre after work with my friend, Boots had reduced loads of baby stuff but the shelves were practically bare. I did manage to get two packs of pram sheets for £1.25 each, a gro egg for £5.25, a black parasol for £2.50 and some pram toys for £1 each. They did have some bouncers left too but Ive already bought one, these were down to £11.50 from £45! Might be worth checking your locals if they hadnt already reduced things as apparently trafford only started doing theirs yesterday but my local did theirs nearly two weeks ago.

My friends lent me her moses basket too so we now have everything for baby (apart from a new mattress for it which Im about to order) All thats left now is stuff for my bag. Boo where did you get your raspberry leaf tea, was it holland and barratt? I havent started looking for it yet, is it 32 weeks we start drinking it?

  • Boo where did you get your raspberry leaf tea, was it holland and barratt? I havent started looking for it yet, is it 32 weeks we start drinking it?

Yes I got a pack in Holland & Barrett, it was £1.29 I think for 20 tea bags. Just got one pack to see if I like it... well can cope with drinking it. Then I will get more. They have it on their website here Looks like shipping is only £1.99 so might just order it online when I need some more. I am not sure about when we need to start taking it and how much, I WILL go off and search for Glams posts now to find out, I keep getting distracted!!

Also just got on to looking at Arnica tablets whilst I was on their website and there are 2 types, 6c and 30c  Any ideas what we should be getting? (see what I mean about getting easily distracted!!)

I am sure Weezl can help you out with all of the herbal stuff as that's where Glam got her information in the first place. I am still taking the Raspberry Leaf capsules, but haven't yet bought any Arnica tablets or anything. I am 39 weeks tomorrow though!!! Aaargh!!
  • Boo Ive just found this list Glam posted.
Might as well bung it on here - bear in mind that mine is based on me being induced at 38 weeks so I moved everything forward 2 weeks. Also, it's my plan from reading various different websites and is what I plan to do - you might want to research some bits yourself. For example, I am currently takin 1.5 times the RDA of Calcium and will up this to 3 times the RDA at onset of labour but am doing this of my own accord.
Don't want anyone to try and sue me for anything!!!

    Calcium 1,800mg a day from week 32
Calcium at onset of labour 2,000mg

    EPO 1 x 1000mg from week 34 to week 37
    2 x 1000mg during week 38
Insert 1 capsule each night from week 37

RLT 1 cup from Week 32 to Week 33
    2 cups Week 34 to Week 35
    3 cups in Week 36
    4 cups in week 37 and 38

    Arnica Tabs 30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 3 days before
    30c 2 tablets every 2 hours – up to 6 doses
    30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 5 days after

I'm actually on 3 cups of RLT (when I remember) and am 35 + 4 and now I know I am def being induced at 38+2 I will probably up the EPO from 37+2 so I get a weeks benefit of the extra.

Calcium - is supposed to help build up some immunity to pain relief
EPO - is supposed to contain Prostglandins which they use to induce labour anyway and is what is found in sperm.
The Arnica is just to help prepare your body for the shock and then help with bruising (externally and internally) and recovery.

I'm under the illusion that these things probably won't work but as they are herbal it won't hurt to try!

Think I need to make a start on buying these now!

:o:o yep, twas I, but boogellyboo has saved me digging it out! Thanks :)

I used the calcium and RLT successfully but didn't use arnica except afterwards as arnicare cream (available at big tescos), a combination of that, brufen gel, sudocrem did wonders for my ahem 'lady garden' :o:D

  • Lol boogelly you were quicker than me, I was just about to paste that same post of glams hehe!! Well I think I am gonna try the RLT and the arnica so amending for glams 2 weeks this should be:

    RLT
    1 cup for week 34-35
    2 cups for week 36-37
    3 cups for week 38
    4 cups for week 39-40

    Arnica Tabs
    30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 3 days before
    30c 2 tablets every 2 hours – up to 6 doses
    30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 5 days after

Ooh good point Jillie about taking the Arnica before... unless we can start 3 days before our due date if we get that far?? And I am assuming that the every 2 hours part is for when we are actually in labour?

its all very confusing. am drinking nowhere near the amount of RLT i should be, i do like it but i want a proper cup of tea and coffee too lol!! i spend enough time as it is going up and down the stairs to the toilet.

arnica tabs- think i'll take them 3 days before due date
