kindof - that's lovely! Now my 20 week scan didn't show up any problems, we are both really looking forward to my 28 and 32 weeks scans (these are extra to normal as one of the hormone levels in my combined test was either too high or too low, I've forgotten now!). A sneaky extra chance to see our little boy before he makes his entrance!0

Morning ladies
Hope everyone is ok, just trying to catch up as getting on the internet at home is murder what with oh moaning, and internet connection keep going gave up this weekend. So have just been trying to catch up but have i missed any births etc ??? There are so many pages to read back on. Had a lovely weekend, a freind of mine painted the room which will be our nursery but not doing anymore to the room just yet, Went out for a nice sunday roast yesterday as me and oh have been together 3 years, I am sure we are the only nation that has a sunday roast when it's so hot outside the resturant was pack, there was also a pregnant women carving the meat, poor cow i felt so sorry for her she must have been at least 7-8 months all in chefs whites and carving behind all the lights and hot plates. I was baking in a t-shirt and jeans so god knows how she must have felt. Then home to lay on the bed watching life on mars on dvd with a fan on me, not sure why i am sure it must be my pregnancy hormones but as well as thinking sam was quite cute also found myself thinking that Gene hunt was also quite cute !!!!
you weren't in a crown carvery were you lou? you just described exactly what i do! luckily yesterday was my last day (at 37 weeks), and im sooo glad, its been getting quite hard these last few weeks, the heat is unbearable.0 -
Helen - I am so sorry to read about your friends. Such tragic circumstances. Poor kids. Regards your dad, just make sure you stand your ground. It's not working and whether he agrees with you buying him out or not, from the fight last night, he surely can't argue that things are fine between you. Definitely try your best to explain to him that you would get on so much better if you weren't crowding each other. You both need your independence and space.
Always - good luck with the house sale. And the Techno XLR gets the best reviews everywhere. It definitely seems to be the most popular pushchair on the market. Drawback is it doesn't have a pram type body, but if you are only going to use that for a few months (and depends on how much walking you will do in the winter), I think the McLaren is probably a better buy long term. But I have no experience, just going by what I have read and what my priorities would be. Keeping an eye out for any bargains for you. I saw it in pink/coffee on special somewhere, but since you are having a boy I didn't think you would want pink!
Jenny - were you away on holiday? Hope you had a nice break. Sorry, can't remember where you were going!0 -
I know I thought so too, he also said:
I dunno if I will be able not to cry baby !! I will do my best but I bet I will be choking back tears

Helen also maybe suggest getting a tenant if you think he'll use money/security while away/loneliness etc as an argument and theres always a sofa for your brothers visits;):D He could possibly have a student if you're in a Uni town, he can boss them around all he wants then lol
Hope all you ladies & bumps are ok, with any luck I'll be joining you one of these days:rolleyes:

Back from Asda. Spent way more than I intended to! Will have to transfer money from the joint account into mine to cover it. Need to lock myself in the house I think - can't go on spending at that rate if I am off work for the next few weeks!
Anyway, all the extras I bought were useful baby/hospital related things. I bought:
2 towels (was going to get black, but they looked really fluffy so ended up getting dark red)
Nappy sacks - had been unable to find these before (I think they are cunningly disguised as wipes!!)
Winter hat & mittens set
Cheap joggies, loose t-shirt and thin hoody for me for after birth.
More maternity briefs and some cheap big normal pants!
Some Johnsons baby wash for me (as advised to use instead of shower gel)
Some ready made baby milk for emergency use in case breast feeding is not agreeing with me.
I think baby is trying to move down as I was nearly hobbling round Asda with pain in my foof! I haven't really developed a waddle yet and MW said that baby is still free so it's not engaged yet, but I think it is trying to get there. Off out again now to pick up parcel from post office, then back to make dinner.0 -
Jenny - were you away on holiday? Hope you had a nice break. Sorry, can't remember where you were going!
Thanks for asking. Didn't really have a holiday but had a week off and spent a nice day waddling around Oxford (and stayed in a posh hotel and had lots of cuddles with OH). Then went up north visiting family and saw my younger sister and her 3 1/2 month old who is just starting to laugh :T and then Preston to see my older sister who is due on Friday
was nice to spend time with someone with a bigger bump than me. Got given loads of baby clothes, a baby bath/bucket lol, and a mirror for the nursery (which currently doesn't exist
). Really enjoyed the nice cool weather in the north west, way too hot down south.
