Yeah she had to sign upto to a new surgery, and it takes a week to process then she can get an appointment after that.

    She's doing another test friday.

Evans it took about 7 tests including a doctors one before i got a pregnant result with my DS for some reason he didnt want us to know he was there until he was ready i wouldnt listen to the doctor either i knew i was pregnant no matter what his little stick said turned out i was right :-)

Helen i am so sorry about your friend how absolutely awfull. As for your dad i think you need to lay the law down to him you dont need that at the moment if he cant be there to support you then ask him to leave for the time being. Big hugs xx

Aww Helen that's just awful. So sorry about your friend. That really is tragic.
It's a shame your dad only seemed concerned with his own life and nobody else's. I really hope you manage to have that conversation with him at some point soon and it's a good resolution for you :)

Have a dodgy hug :grouphug: xx

I spent about 4 hours yesterday catching up after my week away  Can't remember any of it now so wellcome to the newbies, congrats to those who've had babies especially Tigs - will have to go read that thread next. Some notes from today:
    Morning ladies :)

I really think fathers to be should have a special area to park for free! I havent thought about it before, but does that mean say I am in hospital for like 24 hours OH has to pay for that much parking? that is insane!

We got told that OH can get a pass from the midwife so parking will only cost £8 for the whole time I'm in.

On another note, im finding recently that im not pooing alot. I feel like i need to go then i go to the toilet and i just need to pee
Is that normal? Im going like once every 3/4 days.

    Thanks :o:o:o

Lots of allbran or something similar and water worked for me but it was every 3/4 days for a while.

So i am back waiting on the postman for my hospital appointment.

My appointment was late because the hospital didn't get the first letter my doc sent and as I was getting nearer the 12 weeks mark I rang the scanning department and they had just received the letter from my doc and let me make an appointment there and then.

They are talking about weening on the parents thread. Most confusing as some info states 4mths others 6mths. The department of health is also due to make new recommendations on when it should be done.

I think doing it when you and your baby are ready is the best way to go, why starve a baby for the sake of a spoonful of porridge or force feed a contented one? Each to their own.

Lets face it babies walk talk and crawl at different rates so why put a date on eating solids? Even HV's disagree on when is best.

I was just reading in my Doc Sears book that babies have a sucking reflex where they purse their lips when you put something near them and when they stop doing this it's time to start weaning. Think this is right but was only skim reading.

Helen, so sorry to hear about your friends news, lots of hugs to you. Probably about time you asked you dad to give you a bit more space.

Hope everyone else is ok, got tonnes of work to catch up on now so will chat later.

Yeah she knows, i was trying to explain something to her about pregancy tests and use examples without sounding to conspicuous. But im rubbish at lying so i told her. I trust her anyway.
Everyone else we're telling on Saturday after the scan if all is ok :)

Was the same with my other friend, she kept doing tests and kept getting negatives. Until she was 7/8 weeks then a line showed up nice and clear :)
Now she has a little boy :)

    I didn't get a positive till 12 weeks! Now I don't trust the negatives I keep getting.
