Ok thanks :) my appointment with consultant is 2.30pm and my scan is 15 mins before that, so 2.15pm (I dont know why they dont just say that lol)

I think OH is going to get me from work at 1.45pm so if I start drinking at 1.30pm

My only problem is I that I need to pee loads as it is lol, I don't have a problem drinking lol its just not peeing.

I think they should tell you on the letter how much to drink lol cos I would hate to not drink enough and have to go back (poor beenie lol)

Basically my bladder needs to be full doesn't it?

My letter says i dont need to have a full bladder

    And Hi everyone *waves*

Guess who has been signed off sick for another week with a chest infection???

Had to send OH to get my anti biotics as they told me to stay at home again. Is it naughty that i used my old materntiy exemption card that i forgot to send back when i had a mc before? I've never used it, it was still in the envelope but i haven't got any money at the mo and i am due to get a new one soon when the doc fills out the form :D

    hi kinda...
i was told to drink a litre of fluid.
so i did and promptly threw it all up...
so we had to stop in a garage on the way and buy a bottle of water. and i drank that and was fine. there should be loads of water fountains as well at the hospital so if you need to go, go and top up.
when i had a kidney scan few years ago it was the same. i was in agony needing a wee so i went and then topped myself up at the hospital and was fine.

Kindof i was actually told once my bladder was to full go figure! so i think its a balancing act between being comfortably full and not painfully full. Have a practice run today some time start drinking then see how long you go before you are desparate for a wee may help you work out how much and when to start drinking :-)

evans im pretty sure that once you have the card its your regardless and can be used but i would get a new one as soon as you can. My pharmacy took my word for it the first time i had to get a prescription as my card hadn't arrived so i dont think you have commited a mortal sin :-) xx

Edit ok ignore above apparently they are no longer valid if you miscarry before 24wks so get your new one asap shouldnt make to much difference as long as you are pregnant now though. As i said above my pharmacy let me off :-) x

I actually had a scan in 2006 cos I had an infection and I had to have a scan, but all I can remember is that I was bursting for the loo once the scan had finished lol

I am now stressing about finding my letter cos it tells you where to go at the hospital, its at home somewhere but I am not 100% sure where lol

I will do a test run today

EA - I think you have to send it back when you have a MC (I used to work at the place that issues them)

Did you midwife not give you a new form at your booking appointment?

Congratulations on getting to full term ML :j

Thanks for the good wishes girls. Going to have a lazy day today and hopefully shake this off.

Beenie glad you got to your appointment. It's good they let you go too, I'm sure others who had the test had to stay at the hospital until they had the other bloods done, presumably to make sure they didn't eat and cheat!! Maybe you have a more trustworthy face ;)

Jilli glad your bp was behaving - fingers crossed it stays nice and low for you
  • i just drink what i can and normally on my way to scan.... once they have made me go outside and drink a bit more in the waiting room and then called me back in but another time i had the opposite and they sent me out and said do half a wee as i had to much in my bladder!! so i am prob not the best to answer!!lol

You lot can really chat - last night i tried to have a catch up as i had been away for the weekend - but i was so tired after i finished reading it all i had to go to bed and now i have forgoten all i read!!!:o
