Morning Bumpsters. Hope everyone's okay on this lovely Monday morning. Why do they always come round so fast?!
Beenie- good luck with your GTT this morning. Hope you make it there ok. Could you not just get someone to give you a lift if you have no luck with the car?
Got a really busy, busy, busy day at work today, although I am hoping to sneak off early for a Dr apt if I can get one. Going in early to make up for it though!
Prob had lots more to reply to but I can't remember what. So pleased to hear that Tigster and Andrew are doing well. x x:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
spikeysoul wrote: »Has anyone done the child birth trust ante-natal classes? Are they worth paying for (I get reduced fees about £15 and membership for £2) I was wondering if it was worth becoming a member too? My local hospital only does one two hour class - and these look much more in depth. I'm also thinking I might need someone on my side about the home birth thing.
Hi Spikey
From what I've heard the classes are very variable - ours were fab - depends on the teacher I suspect! Although they cover areas you may know about, it's useful to be taken through everything and the contact with other parents-to-be has been great (group curry last night and the ladies are off for tea tomorrow)
We're homebirthing too and although we didn't need to fight to get it (quite the opposite) you should get support and info from your NCT teacher...
I would say it is worth being a member whatever you decide on the classes though, especially for £2. The nearly new sales are an olympic event (don't take kids if you can avoid it and have a plan!) but you can get some serious bargains which will save you heaps over the first few years. We picked up gro-bags, maternity clothes, toys and a tens machine at our one. We're selling at the next one too.MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold! :rolleyes:

hi kindof, I have been given a nasal spray and eye drops suitable for use in pregnancy by my doctor. I think there may be some older style antihistamines they can prescribe but they usually try to avoid it. Remember you can get free prescriptions while pregnant;)
othr than that you can us saline drops for your nose apparently if you want to avoid medication. hth0 -

You're timing is perfect for a Scottish baby LOL Our school year runs from March. DD is September same as bump so round about the middle in the age range.
I'm an end of December birthday, which meant I started Primary 1 in the August at 4yrs, and I sat my Standard Grades (same as GCSEs) in the April after I was 15, wasn't 16 til 8 mths after I done them. Didn't notice a difference with being younger tho, I was still at school the same length of time as my fellow pupils regardless of whos birthday was when.
DD's current best friend was 13 in March, DD not 13 for another month but refuses to believe shes only 12! She'll say things like, when I'm 14 on my next birthday...... and I'm like no, you'll be 13 on your next birthday, dimwit:rotfl:0 -
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:DISASTER:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
My birth pool has a puncture in the bottom ring not sure where but got up this morning and it has completely deflated. I dont know weather to try to repair puncture or just get a new pool. I'm worried a repair may not hold as it is the bottom ring and will be under immense pressure with the water and me in it. Why couldnt it be the top ring!!!
What do you think ladies ???:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
