swiss ball is a big gym ball - you just need to sit on it and bounce (suppossed to help head engage) but who knows?

OH's plan is me on top first thing, him on top around luchtime (don't know how we will manage this mind!) and then spoons before bed with all the other bits throughout the day! Me thinks after day 1 I'll have had enough!!!

It's the breast feeding MW so not sure if she would want to 'check' anything

Ahh ok i have a gym ball and have spent an hr a night on it its very comfortable with my leg problem so have been enjoying that bit.

Ive been told we need to take the getting jiggy juice both ends as we injest the hormones quicker than we can soak them up so to speak. I cant do on top it hurts to much which leaves spooning and the all fours option, if you go for the latter ive found folding the body pillow in half and leaning on it helps a lot stops bump from swaying all over the place :-)

OMG the things we pregnant woman have to discuss lol :rotfl:

  • Had Parent Craft class for 3 hours this morning, all about preparing for birth - what a load of betty swollocks! The only thing I learnt were the disadvantages of all the drugs they offer you, rest was useless. The MW's breathing techniques consisted of 'count to 4 breathing in and let it out for 8'. She also said don't ring the hospital unless you are 4cm dilated with contractions down to every 5 mins.

Did anyone learn anything useful at theres?

Got look after baby for 3 hours on tuesday but after that me and OH are on our own!

    Rant over.

PS Got home for OH to find enormous wasp nest in the loft - not a happy bunny!

Aww bear sorry you have had a bad day.

I too found the classes compeltely useless but then i came from a family of five and i was the eldest so had seen and heard it all before. I only went to get my hospital tour and havent bothered at all second & third time round.

As for the dissadvantages of the drugs if your in that much pain and you need them you dont give a rats a!s at the time you just want it to stop. You may be better off looking at some good web sites and learning some relaxation techniques of your own. Also there are loads of herbal remedies you can take before birth which help to prepare your body Glam is our resident expert on those at the moment she has helped me no end to get prepared for this one :-) xx

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated, Glam.

    Thanks,

God I know!!!! Good job no men on this thread!

Yep apparently digestion is better than absorption which is strange because it's supposed to help thin the cervix
This is what the EPO is supposed to do as well so are you inserting these at night as well?

I'm more up for it in the morning so going on top will mean I'm more likely to O ;)the rest of the time I'll let OH have his wicked way with me! The problem is last time we had sex it felt extremely strange for both of us.

Bear - mine were pants as well. Got hospital tour on Monday, then Bank Hol and the last one (BF and post-natal checks) is 3 days before I'm due to go in so depending on how I feel I might give it a miss!

We don't do breathing techniques but I think they might cover this at the Ante-natal Physio session I am going to next week. They told us to ring them and they will advise when to go in - how the hell will you know if your 4cms dilated?

We had a huge nest in our loft - was biggest the guy had ever seen! Cost us £35 to get it removed but was well worth it. Think we mgith have another one at the front of teh house as there seems to be lots of wasps around the small bushes under the front window. I need to investigate but can't be !!!!!d!!

Might as well bung it on here - bear in mind that mine is based on me being induced at 38 weeks so I moved everything forward 2 weeks. Also, it's my plan from reading various different websites and is what I plan to do - you might want to research some bits yourself. For example, I am currently takin 1.5 times the RDA of Calcium and will up this to 3 times the RDA at onset of labour but am doing this of my own accord.
Don't want anyone to try and sue me for anything!!!

    Calcium 1,800mg a day from week 32
Calcium at onset of labour 2,000mg

    EPO 1 x 1000mg from week 34 to week 37
    2 x 1000mg during week 38
Insert 1 capsule each night from week 37

RLT 1 cup from Week 32 to Week 33
    2 cups Week 34 to Week 35
    3 cups in Week 36
    4 cups in week 37 and 38

    Arnica Tabs 30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 3 days before
    30c 2 tablets every 2 hours – up to 6 doses
    30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 5 days after

I'm actually on 3 cups of RLT (when I remember) and am 35 + 4 and now I know I am def being induced at 38+2 I will probably up the EPO from 37+2 so I get a weeks benefit of the extra.

Calcium - is supposed to help build up some immunity to pain relief
EPO - is supposed to contain Prostglandins which they use to induce labour anyway and is what is found in sperm.
The Arnica is just to help prepare your body for the shock and then help with bruising (externally and internally) and recovery.

I'm under the illusion that these things probably won't work but as they are herbal it won't hurt to try!

feeling so tired, but i think thats because although i was in hospital you dont get as much sleep as you want.

there was a lady brought in overnight who has SPD, she was on crutches and could hardly move at all.

today there were 3 ladies to have inductions. - i thought it was quick way to have baby, but at this hospital seems to be in for 2 days and then baby... very slow start although they did say to one lady htey have to wait for the delivery rooms to be available.

Hi Jillie1974, sorry to hear that you had to have your dose of methyldopa doubled, that happened to me too and was so horrid  saying that I could barely cope with the side effects of the lower dose, I was having horrible anxiety attacks and nightmares and couldnt sleep at all. I was so, so tired aswell, I couldnt function on it and was induced at 37+5 as soon as my BP was stable enough. Do you have long to go before you are due?

Inductions are very slow at my hospital aswell, I was induced by having my waters broken but not before I had waited 30 hrs for a room on the labour ward  I felt very sorry for the poor ladies being induced with the gel though, they were supposed to get a dose every 6 hrs if nothing had happened but they were so short of staff they were lucky to get a dose every 24 hrs, a few days of that and then a 30+ hr wait for a delivery room was meaning they were hanging around for a week or so, urgh!

I hope your BP settles down soon, its very stressful wondering if its going to be okay or not, constant monitoring and getting admitted every few days!
