I would be concerned Op that if you or your dad confront this woman, she might turn round and accuse your dad of perving at her...

I think the best thing to do is ignore her and hope for a cold spell soon....

Dad might want to have a chat with a few mates and next time she is "out", invite them round? All stand around with their shirts off (and string vests if possible).
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • I think the best solution would be the trellis/climbing plants one. That way your dad can enjoy his garden (which will look even prettier) and his neighbour can enjoy the sun without any embarrassment or conflict.
Maybe your dad will be inspired to shed a few garments in his new seclusion!

Why doesn't he just put up a fence?

It might block a lot of his sunlight, and affect how well his veg will grow. My back yard has 6ft fences all around and it means very little sunlight, although in a large garden this wouldn't affect the whole garden I suppose - mine is postage stamp sized :D We can't grow veg in our back yard, there's only enough room for one tub in the sunny spot - the rest of our veg is on the front lawn, which isn't something that would appeal to many people :rotfl:

  • We had a neighbour who did this in our old house.
It did'nt bother me but my hubby was'nt too pleased.
She used to walk round her living room half naked too first thing of a morning.
One day when hubbys car was off the road his friend came to pick him up and mentioned the neighbour.
Casually, later that week I mentioned she had a fan.
Asking what I meant I said a freind who could'nt help but see her(well she did'nt have anything over the windows either)thought she was brave hovering around with no clothes on.
She was horrified, called him a perv and she never did it again.
Much to the dismay of half the peeping toms and adolescent boys in the neighbourhood.
I feel sorry for the OPs dad,how would that woman feel if he kept flashing t her.
  • lol, he should take a deep breath and go out there and sunbath in the nude himself. Maybe she'll get the message! I also like the idea of getting mates around to ogle.

hehe, Seriously, I'd mention it casually, maybe if he's got any grandchildren, could use them as an excuse.

btw, It's totally natural, but I'd only do it if I wasn't overlooked AT ALL!

Do you know any 13/14 year old boys to ask to help your dad out in the garden over the summer? 13/14 have such a way of mouthing off about these things probably infront of the lady and would give your dad an excuse to appologise for the boys looking and then he could suggest to her that it may not be appropriate with young boys about they might get the wrong idea about her.

Runner beans! They'd block her out in the summer when she's sun-bathing, but not shade the garden all the time. (He'd have to harvest the crop on her side at night, though... )

Just set up an easel, some paints and a chair looking as if it is just waiting for her to come back out again. Plus an old polaroid camera. And some tissues.

If he has a 200 foot garden a fence is hardly going to block lots of light climbers would be even better. Seems like a lot of fuss for what isn't likely to happen very often with our climate though.
