why does this appear so often, can only assume that the poster has a financial interest, these things are lethal, poor quality, virtually impossible to obtain spares for. avoid at all costs.
If you are tempted however make sure that you have good life insurance for your family, and that your will is in place.

Pay peanuts ................................ you know the rest.

It's a well-worn cliche, and really is not always the case. Sometimes products are made more cheaply than their rivals for a raft of reasons, not least so as to gain market share. Yesterday I bought a nice white shirt with a tie from Primark, reduced to £2 and it is absolutely spot on. Had it had Ted Baker's name on it I may have been looking at £100 price tag for a product that was made in the same sweatshop as the Primark product was.

I'm not saying that you're wrong, but neither could I say that you are right. What I can say is that I don't know at this point. But there is a person on here who has bought into the product and who is kindly posting details of their evaluation of it and so it makes sense for us who are interested in this to gain more information on just how good or bad it really is.

Thanks for the update G_P_T was wondering if you could take some photos as well?
Can you let us know how much insruance costs for you?
Also it sounds like you need to charge the battery on the bike or can it be removed and charged indoors whilst the bike stays outside?
  • Hi

I am from the electricscooterinsurance.co.uk, the company expansys recommend for insurance. I can confirm insurance is a legal requirement for this bike and any other ones like it. You have to look at it as a normal petrol moped with an electric engine, so tax, licence helmet etc are all required. Insurance on this will cost approx £150 - £200 for comprehensive cover but will be less if you have some no claims bonus from a previous motorcycle policy. Any questions please let me know and I will try to help.

I will take some photos later & post when i get time,
I just done my insurance which fully comp was £154, but they did say i would get 25% discount next year if no claims (this is only £50 less than my car insurance )
You wont get the batterys out (not without stripping the bike down) and you wont want the charger to be outside unless you know for certain it isn't going to rain. I suppose you could get a cover? Im lucky in the fact that I have got room for it in the garage, and TBH I will only go out on it when its dry anyway

I take you you could not tack it onto your car insurance then?

It seems that the batteries willlast for around 12 - 18 months and the replacement cost may be circa £200. This seems very expensive for a battery and I wonder why they are so expensive?
