  • bobbin_around - thanks for the info on the registration documents; please keep us updated on the scooter!

It does seem to look like that one in the link you gave. Users who've tested charging of similar scooters are saying 1KWh of electricity to charge. I would be cautious though of the 50 mile claim I would expect half that at a decent speed!

Lütz Pangaloo - It does seem to look like that one in the link you gave but the expansys one has an externally mounted motor controller (at least on the pics). This might indicate a different battery setup.

I would be cautious though of the 50 mile claim on the Xero eScooter I would expect half that at a decent speed at best!

Thanks very much to the people who have actually purchased one giving feedback.

Its a joke when people come on here and say "these are all sh*te" when they've never seen one in the flesh never mind tried one out.

Thanks for the info. It's all sounding even more interesting if it only uses 1kwh to fully charge it. The cost of charging the battery will vary depending on what electricity tarrif you're on, ie might be really cheap for those who are on the off-peak tariff when units are cheaper at night. For myself the first 225 units are charged at about 15p and the remaning ones at just under 10p.

Really? When you've seen the worst the Chinese scooter industry has to offer (I have) it's not such an enormous leap to believe that their similarly underpriced electric machines will be equally badly made.

It's unbelievable how many people think that a Baotian or Jonway scooter that costs £500 from some drop shipper on eBay will be as good as a Yamaha/Piaggio etc. costing three times as much. Believe me they're not, and it's not rocket science to realise that the electric bikes will be just as underwhelming. Still, it's your money...

But have you personally evaluated this item or is it that you have a poor opinion of chinese produce due to some previous personal experience?

A friend of mine travels a short journey to work in his car. He lives on one side of the River Mersey and travels through the Mersey tunnel each day and the tolls are £1.40 each way. However, apparently motorbikes don't have to pay a toll and he was thinking that he could possibly save £14.00 each week by using something like this.

Your friend may save £14pw on tolls but being in such a confined space with all that traffic, he may end up paying more than that for cough medicine.

I'm not sure what you mean? Why would he need to have cough medicine?

Breathing in all the exhaust fumes.
If you walk along the road or cycle you can taste them, but at least in the open they have somewhere to go. In the tunnel, it's enclosed it's going to be a lot worse.
It's exactly the same as why smoking has been banned inside pubs.

  • If it is 1500w doesn't that mean it needs at least 1.5kw to charge it? Thats if it is 100% efficient charge (which no charger is). So, say it's 10p/kwh then it will cost about 15p to charge it. So 15p for about 50miles...I'd say thats pretty good value!!! Can;t wait for the review - I so want it to be good and buy it so I can be smug at very low cost, eco transport! I do think it would struggle to pull 14stone+ of me! EDIT: Just worked out 1.5kw is 2bhp...I guess 2 horses could pull me then!!
