Hi Bobbin I'm new here and have been trawling the web looking for any info on electric scooters, especially this elusive beast!
just wondered if the reg pack came with Certificate of Conformity and Type Number (Type Testing). I've asked expansys about this but no reply as yet.
Please, please update us as soon as possible on the usability/quality of the scooter and actual speed/range also if the batteries are marked as 38Ah as I'm very interested in buying one!
Yes the certificate of conformity came with registration pack which was sent in a black folder with easy to follow instructions of filling out form to send to DVLA along with what supporting info to send with it.
I haven't been out probably on scooter yet but had quick go down the street and top speed looks like 30MPH. Not sure about the battery will get back to you on that one. Helmets however are a little expensive mine cost me £80.00 which was about best price i could find but looks good quality one.0 -
If these things are as badly-made as the more conventional petrol driven scooters turned out by China then they shouldn't be touched with a bargepole. They are ludicrously cheap for a reason.0

A friend of mine travels a short journey to work in his car. He lives on one side of the River Mersey and travels through the Mersey tunnel each day and the tolls are £1.40 each way. However, apparently motorbikes don't have to pay a toll and he was thinking that he could possibly save £14.00 each week by using something like this.0 -
We could do with the guys who have been brave enough to buy one to keep us updated on this thread as to the durability and battery life. My commute is a 10 mile round trip which is do-able by pushbike & I would be interested in these."In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act. "

If there are 39 other people who are interested and donate £10 to me - i'll buy one and give a full report on it. I will then sell it on ebay and refund everyone (less ebay expenses)! I will provide my time and electricity for free! What have you got to loose!!!0

I ordered one as well, expansys phoned me and its due to arrive next thursday.:D
My delivery date got put back a week to the 4th of September, but i will post my opinions once i get it and had a play with it..
I think those may be able to go faster, as in china a 1500w 48v scooter is rated at 60kmph and those are quoted 50kmph so i guess there is some limiter on the uk ones.
I will investigate this once it arrives
I think this it the makers direct product description

I'd rather go for a used 50cc petrol scooter like the Gilera Runner SP for example, than this Chinese electric malarkey. You'd get far more enjoyment out of it.0

Well if this is the one, it looks identical to a scooter that's just been reviewed in the Sunday Times "In Gear" supplement, the Xero eScooter Urban, which has the same 1500W motor and got three stars out of five, at a price of £1604!

In their test it only managed to get to 27mph, but had a range of 50 miles between charges, so apart from a twitchy throttle and dodgy brakes, they thought it was a decent effort, which would make this one a real bargain at £399 if it's essentially the same beast!

On the blurb I can see that this is rated at 1500w. Therefore I'm wondering how much electricity it will use whilst it is spending 8 hours charging? Does anyoneknow the answer so that we can work out the cost of each mile?0

According to the "In Gear" review, it cost approximately 8p to fully charge each of the five scooters reviewed, which had motors sized between 1000w and 2000w, and ranges from 30 to 50 miles.
Funnily enough, it was the Xero eScooter Urban which seemed to offer the best compromise between power (1500w) and range (50 miles), but it wasn't the most comfortable or best handling.0
