What about the Samsung Galaxy??? Beats the iphone!!!
Keep dreaming!
The cheaper contracts on the iphone aren't worth it mainly because the whole point of the iphone is connectivity so you need the "unlimited" data allowances.
All of the iPhone tariffs have unlimited data usage; even the pay and go one.I like the iphone but its too expensive and tied to O2. I'm waiting for a decent android handset cos android is a match for the iphones OS. I'm also hoping the Pre does good as well.
It has had pretty lukewarm sales figures so far. Its users are less satisfied than iPhone users, and it also apparently has some privacy issues too.
Here's an amusing picture:
The top one is the iPhone launch; the bottom one is the Palm Pre launch.0 -
I'm not touting the Pre. And the samsung is an impressive phone by all accounts. Android beats the iphones OS and the handset is the best one androids been on.
And the pictures only prove the hype that surrounds apple and the fanboys that buy into it. They'd queue up like that to get a wiff of ones of Jobs jobbies.0 -
Come on, when copy and paste is a selling/advertisement boon theres something wrong!
Besides which android can do what iphone OS 3.0 can do and a range of handsets too, not just one. That explodes occasionally.;) And arguments about apps isn't really valid since androids younger so its needs time to catch up, which it will.0 -

To be honest it's the top picture that really makes me cringe and is the single non-product related reason that puts me off Apple products. Fanatacism. The above pictures are actually for me a +1 to the Palm Pre. Although I wouldn't get a Palm Pre because it has similar deficiencies for my needs as the iPhone."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Apple didn't know how to do it to their satisfaction. so they left it out until they did.
I don't know why there was the big hoopla about copy/paste; I used it on the day iPhone OS 3 came out, and I don't think I've used it since, but it works very well.Besides which android can do what iphone OS 3.0 can do
So it's as good as the iPhone, but not better?and a range of handsets too, not just one.
A range of pretty lacklustre handsets, thus giving the consumer the valuable opportunity to decide which particular type of lacklustre they'd like their phone to be.That explodes occasionally.;)
Android phones don't have Lithium batteries in them?
HTC have been known to make the odd exploding phone too you know. And arguments about apps isn't really valid since androids younger so its needs time to catch up, which it will.
Oh, so it's not quite as good now, but it will be?

I don't see what's so cringe-worthy about it. Apple make popular products that capture a lot of media attention; it's not necessary to be a fanboy to appreciate that.
Also, the "iPod phone" had been rumoured to be in the works for years, so it was a big thing when it was finally released. I'm sure everyone who had an iPod and a mobile phone was interested.
Expect similar things if the rumoured Apple tablet ever sees the light of day. "Experts" are even predicting why it'll fail, even before, not just seeing one, but knowing if it actually exists or not, just as they did with the iPhone.
Life really is circular.0 -

Apple seem to thinks its a very big deal, dedicated a whole (boring - how many times do you want to demo the innovative never done before bleeding edge copy and paste function cant wait till other phones catch up!) advert to it.So it's as good as the iPhone, but not better?
Better because of the linux base, honestly you should know by now.A range of pretty lacklustre handsets, thus giving the consumer the valuable opportunity to decide which particular type of lacklustre they'd like their phone to be.
I agree, well apart from the samsung. But at the end of the day (apart from getting dark) andriod can do what the iphone can do on something that (loosely quoting you) is a 2 year old phone. And that being said you get iphone functionality on a range of handsets not just one.Android phones don't have Lithium batteries in them?
HTC have been known to make the odd exploding phone too you know.
They do, I just threw that in there as bait. I'm not that emotionally invested in any brand to have to justify flaws. Though I admit if the phone had blown up in my kids pocket and then the company tried to make me sign a legal document that stated they could sue me if I mentioned it I'd be a little annoyed.Oh, so it's not quite as good now, but it will be?
Now we're really not talking about android or 3.0 are we. What we're talking about is apps, and the only factor here is time.
It is a little cringe worthy, and I wonder where the rumours come from?:rolleyes:0 -
funny - as soon as iphone is mention there's a huge heated debate! aha.
End of the day chaps, iphone has been out years now.
Noting is going to beat it when it first comes out
I've just seen the idou - need to read into it a bit more - but face value... it looks decent.. but never been a fan of SE0
