I was asked for an opinion - so I gave it. I personally think a Blackberry or a Nokia E61i beats an iPhone.
I don't know what Blackberry you're talking about (there are a few), but the Nokia E61i has a much slower processor (220 MHz vs 600 MHz), less RAM (64 MB vs 256 MB), a smaller screen (320x240 vs 320x480), less applications, less sophisticated multi-touch input, and the iPhone 3G S has a PowerVR SGX GPU.
Now, what about the Nokia "beats an iPhone"?0 -

I think your dismissive and sweeping generalisation is perhaps a little narrow-minded? My daughter's iPhone loses GPRS connection and texts are often delayed, but I'm not going to say that ALL iPhones are rubbish.
It's a Motorola touchscreen smartphone. I think it's running Windows Mobile 6.1.
Surely you can appreciate that Windows Mobile is getting rather long in the tooth? 6.1 (itself a pretty minor update) is over a year old now, and 6.5 (another minor update) is set to trickle out to the market in a few weeks.
Let's talk when Windows Mobile 7 is released; Microsoft are playing catch-up.0 -

Sorry - I had meant the E71 not the old E610

All the same still applies, so it doesn't really matter.
I could mention the Nokia's 110 MB of internal memory vs the iPhones 16 or 32 GB, but I won't.All with battery-life of about 5hrs....fantastic. Don't forget your charger will you

Main reason for not wanting an iphone... I can't justify spending £35 + p/month on something what's not "that far ahead". It's over rated. Most iphone users think every touch screen phone is copying the iphone. Plus - If I did spend £35+ I wouldn't go anywhere near my talk/text limits = waste of ££.
Don't get me wrong - I think it's a great phone... but it's not the only phone
(p.s - I love apple
)
I've been looking at the HTC Touch phones...
Diamond 2
HTC Hero (Android?)
Touch HD.
or wait for:
LG GM730 (LG windows smartphone + s-class)
Samsung Omnia 2?
Don't know a great deal about windows or android phones. People moan about windows... they moan about android!0 -
p.s - Detailed specs like the above are all well and good... but they don't really apply to me.
When I'm home - I'm charging my phone
When I'm in my car... I'm charging it... even if it doesn't need it.
(yes - I've read the "Only charge your phone when it's dead".... never caused me or phones any harm!

Neither of my HTC Touch Pro's have suffered from stability issues, infact, no more than any other phone I've had. Touch Flo 3D makes using the device better, but overall I still remain impressed as the day I got them. They just work as I want them too.0
