Thanks for the replies girls! Saw your post on SAID the other day Bowski, hope you're feeling a bit better :grouphug: I really think your GP should be offering you some help. Could you see a different GP, because that one doesn't sound very helpful?

I'm feeling pretty pleased with the progress made this week, especially considering that I've felt totally out of sorts. Think it was a combination of total tiredness, hormones, illness and feeling like my life was out of control. Doing a few moneysaving things has helped me feel more in control so I'm starting to feel better.

I still have to have my trying on session of clothes bought, but I will do it either tonight or tomorrow and return on Monday.

    Some more progress to report...

    1. Cancelled Bank of Scotland card

    2. Cancelled Vanquis card

    3. Changed energy supplier from Scottish Power to EDF. By my reckoning I still owe SP about £75-80 from the whole broken boiler fiasco, but I can move money out of my savings temporarily to cover this. According to the comparison sites I should save ~£131 a year with EDF, so longer term EDF will be better for me. I put my nectar card details in to collect nectar points on my energy bills and of course, I went through quidco, so £60 cashback has tracked :T

    4. Attempted to apply for a HSBC CC through quidco for the £20 cashback. You need a HSBC bank account to do it, which I have, but you need to pay £500/month into it to get the CC. Pondering how I can get around that one  I'm wondering if I should just leave it though, I think I might be getting a bit carried away with chasing quidco money!!

    5. I've been busy doing the surveys that have been coming my way and I applied to do a Focus group the other day. If I'm picked, that'll pay me £50, so cross your fingers for me!

Other than that, I am vaguely contemplating a change of broadband supplier. Need to do some research I think, but it looks like I could save some money on a month-month basis and earn some cashback.

Slightly worried about a visit to the dentist on Tuesday. I'm not scared of the dentist at all, perhaps because I have never had a filling done. However, I'm aware that I seem to have eaten a lot of sweets in the last 6 months and now I'm worried I might need some work doing. Worried about the pain, but moreso the cost! Although it didn't seem to stop me buying a bag of Fizzy Percy Pig tails this afternoon and now I'm about to scoff some lemon cheesecake in front of SCD.

Rightio, I'm off to find a spoon!

    Gwenx

PS Nearly forgot, but my first 99p Glamour magazine arrived today :j

Hmm, have been in lurgy limbo land this week. Can't seem to shake off this cold I've got and it's made me feel really rotten. However, I seem to have woken up with some energy this morning. My throat seems to have gotten worse, so I'm going to persevere with the lemsip/hot drinks/soup/smoothie/vitamins regime, but try and get some things done today.

I did try on the clothes in the end and returned the rest. I was very strict with myself and only kept a red scarf from Warehouse with 20% off and a green silk top from Oasis which is gorgeous and had a discount too (think I paid £34 instead of £40 - also 20% then). Struggled to the shops after work on Monday to return them, when really all I wanted to do was go home and get into bed. I think feeling carp really helped me though because I wasn't tempted to look at anything else, so no more purchases were made (well, except an expensive smoothie ).

I've been trying to do the surveys that have come my way. I didn't get into the Focus Group though :(

The dentist visit went quite well. Despite my concern, I don't need a filling just yet, although the time will probably come, so maybe I should start thinking about putting some money away? I have no idea how much fillings cost?! I'm told it's on the side of the tooth and that's more difficult so I'm guessing it's also more expensive.

I haven't done anything about the change of broadband supplier yet. Today I want to sort out my CPP and decide whether to keep it. I got my letter and it has now gone up to £35 per year  Also, my RAC membership is due soon. I currently get Roadside/Recovery/Homestart/Onward travel and European cover for £59 per year, but I'm wondering if I can do any better anywhere else....another job for today.

One good thing about being struck down with the lurg is that I've seen more daytime TV than usual. I've entered the Loose Women competition to win £15k and the This Morning one to win £21k I think, both for free on the internet. Fingers crossed! :D

The other news is, I applied for an American Express card through quidco for the £30 cashback. At the end of the application, it told me they couldn't make an instant decision and I would be informed of it within 10 working days. Yesterday I checked quidco and £30 from American Express has gone straight to validated! Fingers crossed again! :D

Right I'm going to get off and tackle some jobs. Back later.

    Gwenx

    Hi Gwen

Well done on the clothes returns :D I am currently thinking I should return a £65 Kookai top bought on a whim a couple of weeks ago :o

Oooh, what's it like? £65 is quite a lot for a top, but it depends how special it is. Do you think you'll get a lot of wear out of it?

It's grey chiffon, a one shouldered style with a frill down one side - and no, I didn't need it - it's not even for a particular occasion, it was just a whim :o

Ok, I just went on the Kookai website to see if I could see it, I don't think I can, but I have found a gorgeous bag I'd quite like :o Anyway, I left promptly after that.

Hmm, I don't know. Do you have plenty of other tops? It is a lot of money. If you absolutely love it, I might be tempted, but otherwise I think I'd be tempted to return it. Hang on though, what is the returns policy for Kookai? I bought a pair of trousers one time from there and got caught out because I thought I had 28 days to return when in fact their stupid returns policy is something like 14 days. Maybe they've changed it though? Check before you go, might save you a wasted journey.

*Makes mental note to ebay those trousers...*

Am going to return it as I have loads of tops (and have also recently bought 2 dresses from Wallis :o) - I actually bought it in House of Fraser so have 28 days for the return

Bit of a sarahb justification here though - I 'need' some black shoes for next weekend :D
