Thanks Bowski. Bit better here today.

The couriers have thoroughly c0cked up my Oasis order and when I called up Oasis customer services, I was told they couldn't just label up the same parcel again and send it back out. Apparently, I will be refunded and my clothes will be posted back up on the website for sale. I've just tried to re-do the order and several of the items I originally ordered aren't available - surprise, surprise  Sitting on the Oasis website 24/7 attempting to re-order the clothes I had previously ordered isn't really feasible, so I'm a bit peeved. The only good thing is they seem to have put some cardi's in the sale that I've had my eye on for ages. I've ordered a few in different colours, but only intend to keep a couple. They'll be really handy now it's getting cold and my office is usually baltic.

I re-did my play.com order. I've been trying to keep a close eye on it and tonight it has once again disappeared from my account  Tried to call them, but their office has shut, so I'll have to do it tomorrow. Grrr...

The bit of good news is that I had a very productive (and long ) day at work. It was good though because I like to come away feeling like I've made progress, rather than feeling like I've spent all day working on something and not got very far for one reason or another (usually IT ). Also, a very sweet girl at work offered to do me a massive favour with something. Very kind of her.

Just got to sort out my RAC (yes, still ), car insurance (Lloyds appear to be incapable of printing a renewal notice with the correct no claims discount on it), my CPP (which I think I'm cancelling) and all the above ordering issues and I should be sorted. Phew!

 Maybe Oasis will post the items back up at an even more discounted rate and you can snap them up? Otherwise just think the incompetent couriers have saved you money. It never ceases to amaze me why they attempt delivery and don't leave a card, I have that problem regularly. Or why I get quite so many badly dented parcels - surely they must get loads of complaints?

    Hi Fire Fox

Yeah, I'm not having a lot of luck with couriers. I'm still annoyed about that Oasis order  Now I have an issue with M&S couriers. I did actually get a calling card this time, last Wednesday. Called them up on Thursday and arranged re-delivery for this Wednesday, in between trying to ignore the annoying questions from the bloke on the other end (what job do I do...do I enjoy it....what do I do when I'm not at work???). Tonight I have had an email saying that the whole order has been refunded onto my card :mad: I'm starting to wonder if this is God's way of telling me to stop buying stuff

It turned out in the end, that my second play.com order did go through and it has arrived, but no idea what happened to the first one.

I've decided to leave my RAC as is for the time being. I've got quite a good deal anyway. I've cancelled my CPP until I have time to sit down and figure out if I actually need it or not. My car insurance is pretty much sorted.

I'm currently considering moving money out of one of my ISA's (almost all of my savings are in an ISA unfortunately) to pay off my overdraft. I pay £5/month to have an OD with A&L, that's £60/year which is almost certainly more than the interest I am earning with that amount of money in an ISA. I could then move my current account to Nationwide for £50 :D I would of course, look to replace the money in my savings as soon as possible, but it does make more sense.

    Hello

It's Saturday!!! And my heating is working! Plumber came round this morning and has got it going again, but it needs a new part which he couldn't get easily, so it's working and he'll come round again with the new part and fix it properly during the week. Hoping it's not going to be too expensive :o Also, a bit worried about my electricity bill again as I've been using the little fan heater quite a bit.

I moved money out of my savings so although I still have the same amount of money overall I no longer require an overdraft :j

Right, I have lots to do, but I'm worried I might just sit here drinking coffee for most of the day, so I'm going to post a list and I'll review my progress later. To do list:
    • Query £90 vodafone payment on Quidco - Done, has now moved to validated :D
    • Sort out gas and electricity switch letters that I've had and make sure that's going through ok - Done
    • Write letters to Oasis and M&S - not happy with either of them - M&S done, Oasis done aswell now
    • Call up about car insurance - Done
    • Apply for new bank account with Nationwide for £50 :D - Done, am quite scared it might all go wrong though :o
    • Order Tesco shopping online with code - Done, but couldn't get any codes to work
    • Look into sending phones off

I was very tempted by some of the freebie offers with credit cards that appeared on last week email I think. An Amazon voucher, play.com vouchers, flights etc. However, I've applied for a few credit cards recently and might need to get another fixed rate mortgage soon, so it's best that I don't apply for any more credit cards at the moment. However, my Mum offered to apply for the Amazon card and give me the vouchers :A I feel a bit guilty though because she could get herself something with them :o

Right, I'd better get on with my list.

Damn it! American Express card now gives £50 cashback on Quidco! Shouldn't have looked really, that's annoying.

    Hi Bowski

Thankyou :A *Slightly* Still trying to figure out who is the bigger idiot, me or him , but I suspect it's not even worth thinking about.

Oh no, go another day if it's chucking it down. Could you get a few bits now? I know you want to lose weight and then you could treat yourself more when you reach your goals? You should definitely get new shoes/trainers if you need them. Have you had a look for any? Are there any sales on anywhere? I know you want to pay off your debts and you are doing fantastic with them, but you can't walk around with bare feet. Find yourself some nice boots or trainers for winter (preferably in the sale) and they will last you. Also, if you treat yourself to a couple of things you might stave off the credit card blow out.

He's definately the idiot! But you're right it's not worth thinking about. On to the next one ;)

I'm definately going to treat myself to some clothes/shoes. I won't go mad, just a few bits to see me through. My Dad gave me some money towards trainers and I ended up spending it..oops!! I have actually got some money in the bank but I'm trying to keep hold of it till I find out how much the car's going to cost me. Sod it i'm spending it on clothes and worrying about the car later.

    Thanks Bowski :A

Yes, you should treat yourself to a few things. If you need them, you need them and if you totally deprive yourself, you'll probably only end up having a big blow out like you said. I've got the opposite problem. I've been treating myself too much :o I've bought a new silk top, a new jacket, a scarf, trainers and God knows what else in the last couple of months. Actually I don't think I've bought too much else. I have been strict with myself at times and have returned a lot of stuff which seduced me in the shop or on the net and I absolutely love everything that I've kept. I think I still need a new pair of jeans as one of my current pairs is starting to get holes in , then I'm about set I think.

I've just applied for a new current account with Nationwide for £50. I'm quite scared it might all go terribly wrong though. I'll have to keep my eyes on what is going on over the next few weeks and make sure all my money goes where it's supposed to  Fingers crossed!!

I'm starting to feel a bit like I'm running out of enthusiasm for the moneysaving/making and it's all starting to feel like hard work. I don't feel like moving accounts or doing surveys or anything like that anymore, but I'm forcing myself. I've come too far now and if I can just work hard for the next few months on it, things might be very different after Christmas. I've just got to grit my teeth and get on with it.

Edited to add: Bowski - I had a quick look on the Office website yesterday and they seem to have a lot of stuff on their sale pages online...trainers, pumps and boots.

Right I am fed up of moneysaving blah, blah, blah, but really there isn't much choice. I can do this and I've come too far to give up now. I've read bits of some diaries today for inspiration. Dinah has started a new one and I always get loads of inspiration from her threads. I'm not sure where she gets the energy from, but she is amazing.

I have done all the things on my list now (yes, the list for Saturday ) except sending off my mobiles which I will look into asap. It's looking like fonebank might be the best on Martin's little mobile-phone-recycling-tool.

It's kind of annoying though...I was never one to get a phone upgrade as soon as I could and often left it quite a while between upgrades. Now I can't help thinking if I had gotten new phones whenever I could, I'd have more and better phones to sell = more money for me! Never mind, hopefully I've learnt my lesson now.

I've moved the money onto my &more card to pay for my car insurance, I put it on there just to get the M&S vouchers :D

I couldn't get any codes to work for my shopping, but I did get a 5p off voucher for Tesco petrol station with the delivery, so that's made me feel slightly better. Think I might just go and do the shopping myself next time though. I've never not had a code before and I kind of resent having to pay for my delivery now :D

I've booked Friday off. I'm fed up of work, tired and feeling a bit down if I'm honest. There's no way I can last until Christmas without some time off, but don't want to use a whole week, so I'm going to have a couple of long weekends. I have plans for some moneysaving activities (phones if not done earlier, looking more seriously into focus groups and surveys and selling stuff), but I also want a bit of 'me-time' otherwise I think I'll be burnt out by Christmas.
