Hi Gwen
You're sounding a bit down  Hope you enjoy your day off on Friday, make sure you do something niceSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
You're back! How was your holiday? Lots of sunshine hopefully!
I'm ok, have been a bit fed up for various reasons. I do think I'm perhaps focusing too much on sorting out my finances that I'm getting a bit fed up of it. Having said that I think if I work hard I could be in a much better situation by Christmas. Also, I get itchy feet these days if I don't do things so I'm just going to carry on, but I am going to make sure I have some time to myself aswell this weekend.

I much prefer lots of long weekends to entire weeks off, given that I can't afford to go on holiday!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Your holiday sounds fab Shoe Gal! I've been thinking over the last couple of days that I really want to travel more. I've done a bit (I know I'm lucky to have done that), but I'd really like to see a bit more of the world, so I've got to find a way to make it happen whilst sorting my house and life out.
Bowski - I don't have any specific plans yet. I have just written a 'To Do' list for the weekend which is a bitlot bigger than I'd like it to be, but I am going to try and have some 'me-time' aswell. Can't believe what I read the other night about your car!!:mad: I'm glad the garage are taking responsibility and sorting it for you. Fingers crossed the immobiliser can be fixed cheaply!
I like long weekends too Fire Fox, but I definitely feel like I've had a 'holiday' from work if I take a whole week off. However, this was an emergency situation, not enjoying work at the moment and I know I can't go all the way to Christmas with no holidays.
Not too bad a day I guess, but I'm slightly annoyed with both A&L and Tesco (actually Toluna aswell). I checked my A&L current account yesterday, checked it again today and two transactions have gone out totalling £130. However, my balance has decreased by £300
I have noticed this before, but I think now that I'm no longer overdrawn I'm paying closer attention. Before I think I used to think...'overdrawn - surprise, surpise ' and log off again. I'm going to find it difficult to manage my money if I can't even get an accurate balance on my account. Now tonight, even though no more transactions appear to have left my account, the balance is approx. £120 lower than it was this afternoon
 Very glad that I'm moving bank accounts, but can't help thinking this can't have helped the mess I got myself in.
The Tesco issue is that the £130 that has left my account since yesterday is the £65 I spent on groceries online charged twice :mad: Rang up tonight and apparently they can't sort it out until tomorrow. This is all a bit worrying given that I never paid this much attention to my bank accounts before. I have printed off a load of bank statements today and I'm going to look through them over the weekend.
I'm not sure whether to bother with Toluna anymore because I think I've had 3 or 4 surveys tonight that I've answered a number of questions for and then been told that I've been 'excluded' from this survey. Not sure what it is, but I end up getting excluded from a lot of GTM ones too.
On the plus side, I registered my interest in a market research thingy where I get beer delivered to my house, I have to drink it and fill in an online questionaire, then they send me a £10 Amazon voucher! Quite literally:  Fingers crossed I get selected
Oh and I got a £1 voucher through the post from my &more card plus some vouchers to get bonus points, which if I'm buying stuff anyway should work out quite well.

Thanks Sarahb! I raised a ticket or whatever they call it on quidco though. It's moved to 'validated' now and I'm told should pay out in 60 days.
I think I'm most annoyed about A&L though. I know I can sort out Tesco, it's clearly a mistake, but A&L should be giving it's customers accurate balances, not three different ones depending on where you look and not balances that don't tie up with the transactions that are shown. Sorry, rant over, but  I won't use them again...unless they do keep doing the £100 incentive, then I might get that and then move againThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
Evening Gwen, I find that my Lloyds account does that with the available balance too. Which is quite annoying and kind of defeats the object!! Very annoying
Ohh I'm keeping everything crossed for your beer questionnaire thingy, sounds very MSE :money:
I hope your break from work does the trick. Do you normally enjoy your job and are just having a bad time at the moment?
My car is going to cost £170  It's the key that's gone. So for a new key and for it to be programmed is going to cost £170...what a joke. I'm just seriously hoping that the price includes the £80 they were charging just to look at it and tell me what it needed. And I shall be telling the mechanic I don't want it back until the bonnet is sorted, not a chance I'm driving it looking the way it does.Initial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80
