Thanks makeup. I think I actually found that code on the 'Discount codes' board last week and ordered a jacket and a top
. I should have alerted the SAID ladies, but I think I was in a bit of a rush, sorry.
I might sign up for the emails though, the competitions sound great - 250 pound Oasis shopping spree would sort out my winter wardrobe nicely.
Sorry, this is a brief post and I need to reply to the others, but I'm not sure I'll post again tonight, my head is killing, but I wanted to say Thankyou.

Hmm..wasn't sure whether to post tonight or not. There's not much to report really. I've been a bit distracted and work has been a 'mare. I've just been trying to get through the week to be honest, which isn't a nice feeling.
On the plus side, there's only one more day to go!! And I'm eating half price Ben & Jerry's!! Then I have a week off and I can't wait. I need a break. First and foremost, I'm going to chill out a bit, sleep, maybe watch some DVDs, catch up with some friends then get on with the serious business of sorting my finances.

Almost forgot. I have made *some* progress.
1. Posted Wimbledon application.
2. Posted form to transfer my house savings ISA over to IF - more interest.
3. Picked up referral letter to sort out back from doctors.
4. Got a reply (finally) from M&S. Wasn't entirely happy with the reply, but they sent a 10 pound giftcard and right now, I can't look a giftcard in the mouth.

Ok. I've really not been doing very well. I need a kick up the &rse to sort my life out. Some small steps of progress made though:
1. Ordered mobile broadband, should arrive tomorrow.
2. Called up United Utilities. They are now changing my DD date to the day after payday, which should make things easier, so I don't think I'm better off than I am when I look at my bank account.
3. Emailed Vodafone, because apparently they don't like talking to people . Enquired about changing my DD date to the day after payday rather than the day before.
Hmm, not a lot really, but I will get on. Actually I might revisit my first post on here as I seem to have forgotten what the whole point of this is.

Hi Gwen
No advice to offer - I am taking laziness to a whole new level todayI am actually on holiday from work and had grand plans - but haven't made it off the sofa today
It sounds like your 'baby steps' are all positive ones - well done you :ASometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Thanks Shoe Gal. I'm off work too and am quite frustrated by my lack of progress. Having said that, I think when you're off work you need to chill a bit. I may be doing too much though. I'm going to turn the laptop off in a second and get something productive done. I have a list of things to do today and of the 11 things on it, I have done 4
.
I really think I probably need a break from it all though, jobs, chores, moneysaving. I've got some fun stuff planned in for later on in the week and hopefully I'll regain some motivation. In the meantime, I'll view any progress as a bonus.
I'm currently avoiding the SAID thread. All the MB talk is scaring me. I know, I know, I was the one who brought it up!

I am exactly the same, have stuff planned for later in the week - we are on holiday after all
I am pretty fed up with debt busting and dieting at the moment, progress in both areas seems very slow
I am avoiding all the MB talk too - although I hope you and sarah get your heads around it and make some money :jSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Yep, we spend enough time at work, we should enjoy our time off.
I am going to get into the MB stuff, it's just I don't really want to think about it just yet. I've got other stuff to tackle first. I feel like I need to concentrate on it and not have other stuff going round in my head, but I really need to get on with the other stuff!
I had a quick look on your thread this morning about charges you got back. That must be good news?Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
Yeah, it's great that the overall debt has gone down but l would have loved a cheque then l could have paid off my Barcalycard
Am trying to think of ways l can pay it off - keep seeing adverts for scrap gold and wondering if that might be an answerSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Yeah, I can understand that.
I always think there's a snag with those adverts. They must be making a lot of money out of it. If you have stuff you want to sell, could you take it to a jewellers or something? I don't know too much about it (having no jewellry of any value ), but I imagine those places give you the absolute minimum for it and there must be other ways.Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0
